2015 Limited bumber faulty clip.

My 2018 had driver's side pop within 6 months. Dealer fixed, "will take hours", and now it is popped again.

Toyota has opened a case for me...

I'm wondering if someone can start a POLL on here to check on the Limited/5th Gen's to see if their bumper covers are popping out at the corners. They seem to have started to take me seriously as they just keep replacing parts on the vehicle and it isn't fixing it.


I called as well and they opened a case for me too.. my bumper keep popping out !

2018 4Runner Limited Edition

I have the same problem with my brand new 4Runner. I took it 4 times to get it repair, they replaced the clippers, replaced the bumper, glued the bumper and after all that my bumper now looks worst. The bumper has a different color tone, there’s a large amount of glue on it and now it looks horrible. Definitely not worth the $1000 monthly payment. Two months ago I file a lemon claim. Toyota wants an inspection, waiting for them to schedule a date. Nervous, I see a lot of 4Runners with the same issue on the streets but can’t find any lemon law claims.

I also have this issue, have asked the dealer to fix it twice and it hasn't worked.

Toyota is aware of this issue, no matter what they say.

2017 Limited here. I have the same problem. Push it back in every other day. Hopefully they acknowledge and fix it. Frustrating on a 40k car.

Faulty bumper

My 17 Limited was also having the issue. The dealers body shop glued it in place and it has been rock solid for going on 9 months now. You shouldn't have to glue the bumper cover on ANY vehicle for sure. However, mine is fixed and I no longer have to worry about it coming loose again.
I never plan to replace the bumper so the glue is a non issue for me. If I'm in an accident that involves the front end the cover would be replace anyway.

Because you have a 2019 they fixed it. Wait a year and I bet Toyota will tell you to kick rocks.

When I went, they practically got a microscope out and said a small rock hit the bumper at the bottom and broke it so its not covered.

2019 Limited here. Manufactured 11/2018 purchased in March of this year. 7800 miles so far and just this week noticed same on mine on drivers side front corner only so far. Passenger side is good and secure. Can click the corner back in only to have it pop out again after driving or after the vehicle sits in the sun. As if the heat causes it to expand and give way. Next maintenance visit to dealer around November. Not going to make a 40 min trip to dealer just for this issue alone but will have it addressed then. Irritating for a $45k vehicle have this issue. Have read multiple posts from people who have experienced same issue. 2014’s and up. Some say Toyota is aware and admits of fault while others say they deny knowledge or issue. I’m about to find out.

Anyone hear of Toyota issuing a specific service bulletin for the issue?

Update 10/08/2019
After more than a year fighting with Toyota about this issue, we finally closed our Lemon Claim today. Toyota bought the truck back, they acknowledged that it was a defect and return all my money back (minus depreciation and mileage). IÂ’m very happy with this outcome. If you guys want to go that route I will highly recommend our lawyer he definitely put out a fight for us. California Lemon Lawyers Pasadena CA.

Yep almost every day I have to pop that piece back in. This is stupid on such an expensive car.

My 2016 had this on the driver's side and my 2019 has it on both sides and has since the second day I had it.

It really doesn't bother me. Is it stupid and a defect? Yes. Is it going to keep me from enjoying a $50k truck that I otherwise love? No.

Right. Actually doesn't bother me. Our 2017 Nissan Rogue had the same problem, and it took the dealer 2 years to finally get it resolved after sending it to the second body shop that knew how to fix it. They readjusted the headlight, grill, bumper cover and support and got it fixed to where the bumper wouldn't pop out.

My 2018 did this till I glued it with some epoxy and it’s been holding great for few months now.. this is on a SR5 FYI ... I tried new bumper support that it clips into and it did nothing I finally figured the little tabs on the bumper were just not molded long enough or correctly...

2018 limited. Started on drivers side, happened after they replaced a headlight under warranyy.They tried to fix it, 1 day later it popped out again. Brought it back. Fixed for 1 day. Now other side popped out too.
Have been living with it.

Not going to waste time lemon lawing my truck. Not that important to me. Wont affect resale either. Will just pop em in before inspection.

Didn't realize it would be possible to LL over something that is basically cosmetic and also not intrinsically mechanical.

Different but similar; I have continued issues w/ my driver side front quarter panel trim piece popping off (right above the wheel well).

It's been replaced twice by warranty; growing tired. But same deal, the clips don't hold and the two sided tape can't keep it snug against the wheel well.

my passnger fender flare is also coming apart;the adhesive is coming apart...anyone else?? have you fixed it?
