2016 SR5 Wheel width

Hey guys,

Sorry for the question, but I've been searching on the forums for the answer since last night. It's bugging me that I couldn't figure it out on my own, but I just bought a second set of 285/17/17 mud tires (Kanati Mud Hogs at a sick price that I couldn't turn down), but wondering if they'll fit on the oem sr5 rims.

Anyone else ever run these?

Really apologize and hopefully don't get flamed too much.

Thanks in advance.

As long as you mean 285/70/17, then yes, they will fit the wheels. Most 285s want at least a 7.5" wide wheel (the stock SR5 wheels are 7" wide), but they will fit and most tire shops never check anyways.

Thanks for the info, sorry I did mean 285/70/17.

OP, Re. 7" rim width.

I have a 2016 SR5 4WD and for the life of me could not find the rim width in any Toyota info, manual, brochures with specs, etc. So I asked the dealer parts guy if I had to say replace a bent rim, what would he order.

He said he needed the VIN number to come up with the right rim. Using the VIN it came up with a 7.5" rim.

You might want to do that check to be sure what you have.

You can usually find the wheel dimensions on the backside of the wheel.

Yeah, tried that by laying down and looking, but could never see it, so I just asked.

Its usually in the spokes, so its better to take the wheel off. You can also find the wheel model to help confirm specs.

I guess the proof in the pudding is as bofa suggests. Look at the rim.

Gonna try that again. Parts guy could be wrong although he showed me the screen with the rim and my VIN on it or the parts system is wrong.

Just to be clear that is not correct for the Limited, the LE 20's are only 7" wide. It's been debated to death in another thread. Toyota materials have had it incorrect for quite some time. See link I posted in above post.
