2018 4runners hitting dealerships?

I totaled my 2008 4runner and am in the process of trying to buy a new one. Having followed multiple threads I see that the production for 2018 began this month, I have also seen that there is a minimal increase in MSRP from 17 to 18, all good news.

I have asked multiple dealerships when they anticipate the 2018s hitting their lots, and have gotten answers all over the board. Some say by September, others say not till december (seems bogus), I am looking for a TRD Pro and one dealer told me they won't have those in until feb-march or 18.

I know the salesmen are generally less informed that the members of this board, which has been proven time and time again by getting bogus info from salesmen during this process.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Any guys who bought 2017 TRDP at the end of 16?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you may be able to provide.

Why not just go get a 17 TRDP? There are still a few around as long as you are open to traveling to get one.
 
I am all for getting a 2017 trdp, but if I am going to have to be MSRP (of very close to it) and the 2018 TRDP has a $275 increase on MSRP I would prefer the new model year (even though it is a carry over).

I am not against getting a 2017, just don't want to get a 2017 this month and have the 2018s hit the dealerships in mid to late september.

This is all I know for the 4Runner. The new tundra will start hitting dealerships later this month so im sure the 4runner isn't far behind.

Dealerships are still getting new 2017 vehicles shipped to their lots. I would expect that supply to be cutoff before 2018s are even close to hitting stores.

There were still 2016's showing up in So Fla in 2017 so I would be surprised if the 18's show up soon.
 
2018 4Runner are allocated (shipping from Japan).

The 2017 didn't hit dealers in my area until March of 2017 so you've got a long wait ahead of you. I bought my 2016 January 28th of 2017 and got a great deal on it IMO

2016 SR5 MGM 4WD with nav, weather package, running boards, 8 miles on it. $33,500 out the door said and done all included. That's including an extra year of toyota care (3 years) not that i care because i'll never use it anyway Also included a lifetime engine warranty for what that's worth. Took some shopping around but no one else even came close to that price.
 
Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and in the same position. Looking for either a 2017 Cement TRD Pro or a 2018 Black TRD Pro. If anybody has any leads, it would be greatly appreciated! Current mode of transportation is a Honda Ruckus [emoji41]

Let me say what no one else has said here (yet) - sorry to hear you totaled your 4Runner. Bummer! A 2008 hasn't even reached its half-life yet. I hope you're OK and that things work out for you.

That's what I thought, 4Runners still being made in Japan. When I bought my 2011 Limited, I ended up getting close to the last one's that was on the ship to America When the hit Tsunami hit Japan in March 2011. Interesting enough there wasn't even a price increase or any attempt to increase price on some of the last one's to hit America for a little while, and I still made a pretty good deal on it.
So, maybe the OP should look around for a good deal on a 17. I'm in Mississippi and my dealership looked around for the one I wanted, and practically found it on that ship, and got it here for me.
 
I remember when I bought my '16 TEP/KDSS in late November of '15. The dealership ,in a major city, had been working on locating one for about 3 weeks. At that time I think pre-orders were being filled and TRDP and TE/KDSS were only going to Colorado, Wyoming and Utah at the time...or at least that was what I was told. My vehicle was pre-ordered to a dealership in Wyoming when the potential buyer backed out of the purchase, and I had a few hours to decide to turn the truck back to Kansas to have it delivered. If I remember correctly they said pretty much all TRDP and TE at that point were already sold before even being delivered to dealerships.
