Yup. The first acceptable 4Runner I could get my hands on was my '16 TEP on 19 Dec 2015 from Toyota of Dallas - I was solidly looking from September - December. Wish I had waited and worked a deal from Colorado.
 
my dealer told me a shipment of 17s is arriving late this month.
Even if that is the last shipment I wouldn't expect 18s to get here before October. (That is a WAG tho)
 
Initial 2017 Toyota 4Runner production was delayed due to changing over to the next generation of airbags so they ran the 2016 model a little longer and the 2017 a little shorter. The 2018 cycle is right back on track this is the normal time for 2018's to start being produced and shipped.

That's what we thought but there is actually a pending recall for 2017 Takata airbags. The dealer should have made you sign a notice of future recall or something as such.
 
Long time lurker that finally registered to the site. Patiently waiting to pick up a 2017 or 18 TRD off road and I see there are still some 16 sitting on lots. I found a video that claims to be a 2018 limited review review from a couple of days ago and also a post on the East Madison Toyota Facebook page supposedly of someone picking up their 2018 off-road . I just did a Google search for 2018 4Runner and limited it to anything within the last week. So maybe they are actually arriving?

I had a 2005 Honda Ruckus when I was finishing up engineering school. Free parking all over town, 75mpg, no license required. I wish I still had it.
 
The grey matte trd rims are awesome.. I have them currently on my SUPERWHITE.. Good luck on finding the new 2018, I believe some has special order them.. You just have to lookoutside your city.. Try calling Texas Dealership especially the one in houston where all Toyota's are allocated for the states.
 
If your in the Texas area, there is a Red Barcelona TRD Pro 4R at Toyota of Katy. As of yesterday they were asking $45ish, not including accessories & TT&L. There is also a Cement TRD Pro in Alvin, TX, however they will not give you a price, I was told you have to come in and it's by a case by case bases. There is one Cement 4R at Toyota of Victoria, but I confirmed today that it is spoken for. Oh, all 2017s.

The gray rims are awesome but you have to downgrade to 7 inch wide. factory trail rims are 7.5 inches wide.

I am all for getting a 2017 trdp, but if I am going to have to be MSRP (of very close to it) and the 2018 TRDP has a $275 increase on MSRP I would prefer the new model year (even though it is a carry over).

I am not against getting a 2017, just don't want to get a 2017 this month and have the 2018s hit the dealerships in mid to late september.

I'm going to do some fuzzy math to make the argument that you're wasting your time waiting to get an 18 if you can buy a 17 for the same price today.

Your last 4R was a 2008 (sorry about her untimely demise), and you drove her for about 10 years.

Base MSRP for a current year TRD Pro is $42,400, or roughly $353 a month amortized over 10 years (irrespective of options and financing).

If you spend 3 months looking for a 18 TRD Pro, and if time = money, you've wasted $1,060 in not driving the 4R you want. I doubt you'll see the same offsetting difference in depreciation between a 17 and 18 (I could run KBB, but I'm no accountant and this is fuzzy math, remember). If you spend 6 months waiting to get what you want... $2,120 in lost enjoyment.

So why wait, (unless it's tangible like you want the 18 color) if you can find what you want?
 
2017 ORP, chrome tip, roof rack, remote starter, moon roof, KDSS,cargo cover, wheel locks and 2 sets of floor mats/tray, winter and summer.

40K plus tax and license in santa fe NM. they had another silver one that had corgo tray but not the remote starter for the same price.

It was $500 under invoice. They had a few there and when I told him I wanted $500 under he was good with it.
 
I know that 2018 is a carry over year, but will there be any minor changes such as the JBL screen that the Tacos have? Any advice on even small updates is appreciated! I was just contacted by a dealership saying I can have a 2018 in about 6 weeks but wanted to see if the 18 was worth it or if I should try and track down a Cement 2017. Thanks!
