Because all the information I have from Toyota says that the end of 2016 model year the airbags were changed over and that all of 2017 model year we're good. Toyota changed the production schedule so they had a hard cut off point , meaning no 2017's would be affected but there are a few 2016's at the end of productions that do you have the new airbags. Please provide me with any additional information that I missing. Thank you

Ah, I stand correct. We are still being told to fill the "Future Recall Notice" form by management, but it did end with 2016MY.
This is the form in question (rather generic).

Toyota 4Runner Production in 2016 was delayed because of the earthquakes in April that killed 41 people. I got mine at the end of May 2016 ( and from what I was told by the dealer at that time, I got the last non-KDSS Trail Edition Premium in the state of Arizona)... I was originally trying to get a TRD Pro but from June/July there were none coming over because of the disruption at the plants. 4Runners were really scarce to find in the style you wanted. Orders for 2016 4Runners (made in May-July) took forever to get on U.S. shores.

You're partially correct, the earthquake limited production but they extended production to cover the airbag transfer. The big earthquake in 2011 all it did was just stop production they did not extend the model year. This was a special circumstance that had everything to do with the airbag.

Any word on what this "TRD Performance Package" is? Per reddit it sounds like it might just be a skidplate and grey 17" TRD wheels ... but can't find any photos of those wheels or confirmation as to what's in that package. Guessing the wheels are the same design as the TRD Pro but in grey?? Hard to know given that both the TRD Pro and TRD Off Road models are now technically 'TRD' models.
There's a photo on the Toyota website in the 4Runner gallery that shows this package. Grey TRD rims and the TRD skid plate. My 4Runner has been verified that it is built and won't hit the port until around October 23 and there it will sit for around 15 days for the port accessories to be installed. Then 5 to 10 more days to deliver to the dealer, so maybe mid November. So after ordering a nautical blue TRDOR it will be about 5 months to take delivery. Not exactly the timeline I was expecting.

Picked up my 2018 TRD Pro on 9/20/17
Went to the dealer to pick up a TRD Off-Road Premium after giving up on finding a TRD Pro. Ironically that truck sold the morning of, and a TRD Pro came off the delivery truck. Told them I would pay sticker, no haggling. Took it home the next day (I couldn't drive two cars home and they wanted to remove the plastics and give it a wash).

Bought my 18 TRD Pro a few weeks back as well. Only option it had was the Chrome exhaust tip.
I ordered my TRDP 3 weeks ago and it arrives on the 18th w/cargo deck

I picked my 2018 ORP up around Sept 12th. Dealer honored '17 pricing (~3700 off MSRP). Couple mods in and loving it!
I've got the pics, but haven't posted enough to show them.
That's a pretty good deal. Here in the great NW most dealerships are not taking much less than MSRP. I went into a dealership back in June and he wanted MSRP and wouldn't take anything less to his manager. I walked out and told them I could go to UT and get a way better deal even considering the extra cost of the airfare. They didn't care, because they knew they could find someone else who would pay MSRP. Ended up going to a broker and he found a dealer in OR that would take $750 over invoice. To me that was ok since there was less hassle. What dealer in UT did you use?
