265/70/17 tires with 3/2 lift...

Hey everyone, I just ordered the OME 885/895 lift kit and now shopping around for tires.

Just wondering if anybody has this setup and could post some pics... im curious to see how it looks, whether 265/70/17 will look good with a 3/2 lift.

Anyone has experience running a 3/2 lift with stock tires and have pics? Does it look horrible?

depends on how u like it. most will say that size will look too small. but then again, there are others who lift their truck and keep the stock size tires because they don't mind the look. personally, i think it might look a little small with a 3 inch lift but in the end its up to what you want to see and what you can afford.

The 265/70 is about an inch bigger than the stock 265/65. I have 2" of lift up front with the 265/70 size and it looks pretty well balanced. Another inch of lift won't be too bad. Some have said good things about the 255/75 size which is even a little bit taller and might "fill the gap" a little better. Scroll through the "Lift and Tire" sticky thread... there's bound to be something very close to what you are considering.

I was in the same boat and I must have gone through the entire lift thread at least 5 times before I made my move. Went with the 3/2 cornfed on FJ's and I gotta say I'm very happy with the look and feel. Still need to mount the spacers, but for a OEM+ look I get tons of compliments on how beefy the ride looks.

If I had to do it again, I might go for a 2.5/1.5 but 265/70's are a great tire if you find yourself on mostly paved roads (and don't want to get UCA's). As mentioned, its a 32" tire so most people can't tell the difference unless you run wimpy tires.

Stock size on the other hand (265/70) I definitely wouldn't recommend with a 3/2. From what i've gathered, it would look ridiculous.
