285/75r16 on 16x8 or 16x9?

Just wanted to check which rim width most are using when going with 285/75r16 before I purchase new rims. Are most using 16x8 or 16x9 for wheels? I plan on buying wheels first until I wear out the tires I have on now that have about 80% tread still (currently 265/70r16).

i have personally have used Procomp 87 series... 87-688st i believe...

16x8 w/ 4.5' backspacing ( i think its 4.5" backspacing on those steel rims) on goodyear MTR Kevlar 285's///

technically you can run 285's on 16x7 stock wheels depending on the shop... some won't mount...

the bulge on the outside... the sidewall... will stick out more on a less wide rim
my worry about that is the UCA may be touching/rubbing the tire...
