2TH4IST's, Forrest's adventures and things.

Thanks! Yes you are correct, I will be using it for a grab handle. I'll also wrap it in foam as I have already hit my head on it a few times.

More work done today, got the copper pipe made for the compressor. Then measured the start up and running current draw. 80 amps on start up and 50 running. Sweet. Had a little air leak, but it's fixed now. Covered the copper and fittings in firesleeve.

Then moved to the water system. Got the pump, accumulator, and filter all mounted up. Then started on making the pex pipes for everything. It came out great, pex was pretty easy to work with. Then mounted up the uv light filter. It's mounted on the side trim panel. The top pipe from the water tank is the vent, it runs up the roll bar and has a air filter on it. Was going to call it a day but pushed on and made the faucet mount. Just waiting for the paint to dry.

I'll start either the wiring or the air lines tomorrow. I accidentally miscalculated the total amperage for the electrical panel, so had to bump up the wire a gauge to 2 awg. Should be perfect. Oh the solar panel need to be mounted up and related stuff for it.

Today, started working on making all the electrical system's wires. Took it super slow today as I was just vibin and tired. Got the bulkhead to bcdc charger wire made, then made the start batt to bulkhead wire. Torqued down all bolts/nuts that I could on the panel. Made the ground wire for the panel and used the empty seat belt bolt as a chassis ground as that is what redarc recommends. But now I need to go up a few sizes on the ground wire from the fender to battery to 1/0 awg. I'll use the 4awg ground to replace (forgot to when I did the big 3/7/10 or whatever) the firewall to engine ground. That should conclude the panel grounding.

Mocked up a house battery master disconnect switch, which I should get done tomorrow after voting. After all that is done, I'll move to making the battery wires, 1/0 awg for everything battery related. Hopefully this week I'll get the wiring or most of it complete. Need to hit the trails soon, getting the itch badly.

Dealing with either pinched nerves in both my elbows causing my thumb, pointer and middle fingers to go painfully numb. Could also be my tendinitis acting up or getting worse. Either way, the work will continue.

Not a doctor, but it may be a neck issue too - C6 nerve root. That was the issue for a bit for me with a slightly numb pointer finger/thumb. Fixed the neck (stretching and strengthening) and finger effects were fixed.

@phattyduck thanks for that, I'll look into strengthening and stretches for that part of the neck. Either way it sucks, can't get much sleep these days. Might be time to hit up a doc to see what's going on.

Today the work continued. Got the battery cut off switch mount made (looks great), got all the battery cables made, got the up sized grounds remade (batt to fender upped to 1/0awg and the firewall to back of cylinder head upped to 4awg). Test fit the batteries and they fit perfectly. Also hard wired the air compressor, and wired the solar to the bulkhead. The solar panel will be the last thing installed. So all in all, all the large awg wires were made today. Also torqued the rest of the stuff today as well.

Didn't get to the small wire house side stuff. Probably will tackle that next week. Hopefully it should go quickly, as it doesn't require specific clocking of the lugs before crimping.

Then tonight the switch pros sp9100 decided to freeze up. I'm guessing it was when I was making the new grounds. After dinner I disconnected the negative for a few mins, hooked back up and now it's working properly. That gave me a scare as that thing isn't cheap to replace.

Might mess around with some of the easier wiring jobs tomorrow, fridge, switch controls, mount up the battery cut off.

The lifpo4 battery's need to be fully charged, then connected together for 24 hours to balance all the cells before use, that will be done soon. Before the solar panel gets installed.

Sorry, I'll get pics tomorrow, been hyper-focused to get the stuff done to get pics.
