2WD guys....what tires are you running?

Michelins are rated the best on tire rack.

Firestone Destination LE2s are right behind them. Maybe a .1 of a point.
The Firestones have more reviews, probably because the price is more competitive.

I have LE2s on both my 4wd and 2wd 00 and 01.

For my 4wd I'll be switching to an AT tire soon. Probably not Firestones as I don't think their ATs are as good as their HTs.


However, I've got great ride, great wet road traction, they are quiet comfy and have had 0 problems balancing.

We have these on my wife's 2007 and they are really nice tires. I like the deeper tread on the Michelins though, but the Destinations were a great deal for how highly rated they are.

I wouldn't hesitate to put them on my truck either.

I have bfg ko 31x10.5x15 and they ride really good on the road. They dont have that much road noise. They also greatly improved the look of my 4runner. Whenever these wear out ill probably buy the ko2s cause these have been great so far

I also have Michelin LTX MS2s, 265/70/16. These tires are just plain amazing. For everyday driving they perform extremely well. For the occasional times I took my truck off road, they have never let me down as well. I got stuck on a soft sand beach in 2WD, put the truck in 4WD and it came out effortlessly. I am very impressed.

With 30x9.50s, my speedo is dead on with my GPS until 70mph then it starts to read 1-2mph fast. Close enough for me.

Maxxis MT-762 Bighorn 255/85R16
Not loud for how aggresive the tread is. I have a few 1000 miles on them and no issues. Need a lift for these babies. They're just shy of 33". Tires look great in my opinion.

Maybe he just wants his 2 wheel drive to be all it can be, just because it is 2 wheel drive should not limit him to put what ever the hell he wants on it, some of you are just haters, and probably do not even take your 4 wheel drive off road. Different strokes for different folks.

I am absolutely not a hater. Anyone can do whatever they want but for the absolute weight of those tires, rolling resistance and drag resistance I don't see the payout on a 2WD. most people with a 2WD don't take it too far out without another person. All you need is a winch. No need to get butt hurt because those tires are pretty impractical for most with a 2WD. I will conclude this with a have a good day. Different strokes as you said.

Ok well I am not one of those people. I don't judge how many wheels drive a vehicle as it makes no difference as long as the owner is happy. Hence why I hate 85% of jeep people because they're overly cliquey.

I run the Yokohama Geolander HT in 265/70-17. My 4runner is not an off road vehicle and I have two 4x4 trucks if i get the itch.

I offroad my rig so I run hankook dynapro atm but if you're just on highway I've installed falken with great result lasting 50k miles at least.

I recommend to the OP this tire in a SL load. So far i've gotten 70,000 miles and they have about 3-4 ticks left. For what the OP wants/needs them for they are perfect, they ride quite, do well in dirt, rock, sand (somewhat) and mud, not to mention cactus even though they're only 4ply. I'll probably move up to bigger boy offroads next time but sure did get my $$$ worth. :cowboy:

The Maxxis that I picked are D load rated and are lighter than comparable tires. They are very quiet for mudders and look wicked cool.
