3 flash turn signal?

When I had a 2012 WRX, I used the following product for this function:
tappage3
It's the same flasher unit used in certain model year Prius.
There is no listing for 5th Gen 4Runners.

My SuperDuty did this. I suppose it's convenient on the highway but the input to activate the turn signal was way to similar.
Many times I'd look down and find myself driving down the highway like an 80 yr. old with my blinker on for who knows how many miles because I pressed the turn signal stick to hard :doh:
Some folks love it though and to each his own! I like the 4runners traditional method though and especially Toyotas method of a control stalk on both sides of the wheel. Seems like some OEM's enjoy seeing just how many functions they can cram onto the left side control stalk.

I did it, because the 2012 Audi S4 that the wife drives has this function built in.
I thought it was pretty nifty, so I wanted in the WRX.
After it was installed, I ended up removing it shortly after. It never seemed to be integrated fully/properly.
I would not look to do it again, unless the car came factory with it.

Been driving a rented Ford Escape with this feature for the last week while on holidays. It is neat, but I personally couldn't justify spending anything, money or time, on adding it to my 4R

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong here, but I thought this was a setting like the window down feature from the remote that can be enabled by Toyota? I thought that I read that here somewhere? Oh well, take it for what it's worth and don't quote me on it. Can anyone verify that?

I am coming from a gti that had 3 flash turn single to 4runner and I it drives me nuts not having it.
Would love to see a solution for this. My Grand Cherokee had it and it triggered with the slightest tap, no issues of turning on the "actual" blinker on accident.... It's the only thing about this car that I can't get used to.... Granted I've only owned one other vehicle without it.....
And just to beat the "BMW owners never use blinkers why do you need it?!?" people..... My dad had a BMW I borrowed a few times, if your hand goes within 6" of the blinker stalk the ****ing thing goes insane and blinks, puts on the rear wiper, turns right, turns left, spills your coffee and automatically tailgates whoever is closest to you..... You can't blame BMW owners, the Germans just figured out a way to get back at us for beating them in WW2........ Get mad at Hitler, not the driver!....... And now my alcohol fueled mind is wondering if the Japanese are keeping the "3 blink" away from us for the same reason..... :shrug::banplease:

Three blink signal
I drove my mothers Avalon down to Florida this winter, second time driving her 2015 down there. Just realized after already in Florida this last winter that it had this feature. I loved it , used it all the time afterwards. Very nice touch ! Also on her car ( I think it's a XLE ) the left , right & cruise control stocks have illuminated lettering . Very handy.

From all the requests regarding 4Runner flasher I would like to see the support for LED bulbs without "burn-out detection". I'd love to put LED blinker without dealing with resistors (which is a stupid way of dealing with the problem IMHO).
I replaced flasher in my old Taco and I run LED bulbs all around. I wish that option is available for 2012 4Runner. I don't care about DRL function as US version (orange color) is not legal in Poland anyway. I have separate LED DRL/FOG lights installed in place of original fog lights, and I disabled flasher operated DRL by cutting of DRL wire between Body ECU and flasher.
For my Nissan Versa Note to make it legal in Poland I had to swap front blinkers for switchback orange/white LED (front position lights have to be white i Poland, not orange like in USA). To deal with hyper-flashing I used front orange corner markers turning them into blinkers. I replaced original W5W with 10W halogen T10 and connected it to front signal circuit. The corner marker housing is designed for 5W continues power, so it will survive 10W flashing. Apparently 10W bulb + LED blinker bulb was enough to fool the flasher. So my Nissan has now corner blinkers :jump:
