Early this week the Maintenance light came on then went away after a minute. Now its staying on. I had the Oil changed at 30K by a trusted local garage and its still full. Seems to be running the same and i put in some new gas to see if that would clear it up. Any thoughts on what might be going on at this mileage point?

It's just a mileage-based reminder. Just reset it. Consult your owners manual or see http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/60178-resetting-maint-reqd-light.html#post498664

Its a mileage based reminder, it kicks on every 5k. Toyota has been switching to a synthetic oil that gets 10k service life (assuming average driving habits,) but they still recommend that your tires still be rotated every 5k, ect.

To reset the reminder;

Switch to Trip A on your dash, Key OFF. Hold down the Trip Select/Reset Button on the dash (the black button you used to put it in Trip A), then turn the key to the ON position. Keep holding the Trip button until you see the ------ on your dash disappear. All done!
