Sounds like yours doesnt have it. Did you read the part of the guide where i said the elocker was only ever an option and was never part of any package even the highlander package?

I did. And I know I don't. Dealer said if he can't get it to work I get my money back. He claims it's a 1500$ job, but I saw you said it was like 400 or so for swap. I know he's overestimated. Just want to make sure I don't get screwed. I did see wiring harness for it and I have the button, but still needs locker and dash indicator light. I will post if they actually follow through

I don't understand why you are making them "Fix" this. The truck didn't come with it, that's not their problem. If you want the locker its up to you to find a truck that is equipped with it or add it on your own dime.
The parts to add one in are usually around $400 for the used elocker diff then you need the wiring harness and whatever labor it takes to get the job done.

You can expect to pay around $400 for the housing with a locker. That doesn't include the labor to install it. $1,500 is probably a pretty accurate estimate.

He sold it to me with just the switch and no locker. I called him out on it and said I wanted my money back. Now he says they will put it in, but I find that hard to believe if it really costs that much

Was the plastic knock out there or was that missing as well? It sounds to a lot of us like it never had the option in the first place. No switch, no locker=no locker from the factory. Unless you have documentation to prove it had a factory locker, like the original window sticker.

Yes it was and he only replaced the switch and sold it to me as having a rear locker

You guys act like everyone selling these things is an enthusiast. The dealer's eyes probably turned to dollar signs the moment you started telling him that it was an uber desirable Highlander package that clueless forum members believe all have lockers. "Oh yeah, it's definitely a Highlander, I think someone just forgot to put back the locker switch while wiring the tracking device in case you start missing payments on a 15 year old vehicle."
This is how real niqqas look for a locked 3rd gen when the shady used car dealers think a switch is just missing. Open the driver's door and look at the door sticker. Does it have a code "A04A" somewhere? If it does then that 4Runner should have a locker. A03A? A02A? You don't have a locker.

No I don't I am new to this. Now I am very sceptical about everything they promised. Glad I have the warranty tho. Great truck besides the headaches

Ok good. Well you've got that lovely warranty. Make them fix it. Just remember that the locker only engages in 4LO. Every other transfer case mode will simply result in a blinking light.

Hi there - I've been driving a Landcruiser Prado 2002 called the GX - Colorado from the UK. Diesel, manual. Love it. Perfect for our family of 5. Lots of rough roads, living in East Africa.
About to move to Canada and want to keep it Toyota if possible.

Kind of excited and seems like a good find.
Any advice would be great.
I haven't been to check it out, but for the price, I'm willing to make a deposit and then go finalise the deal.

Personally I wouldn't do it. It may be low mileage, but it's from Jersey. And they're looking for PNW prices.
