3rd Gen Attic Net?

Has anyone had any luck putting in an attic net? I see the 4th gen and 5th gen guys doing this and it's an ingenious idea. Unfortunately we don't have rear hooks in the cargo area to hold up a net. Wondering if anyone's figured out an alternative method for installing a net on our ceilings?

Raingler makes a nice product. You have to pull the trim back and install mounts into the sheet metal. Here's mine in use.

I did it a little different with 2x2 welded mesh and mounted molle pouches to it. Hate having stuff sagging down in my rear view and moving around.

I did something similar. When I replaced my headliner fabric, I broke the plastic push pins that clip the headliner to the roof. So I tapped the holes and used some eye bolts with washers to hold the headliner up. I was then able to use the eyebolts to attach a net.

That's cool! I built something similar for the back window. I may barrow this or close. Very smart. Did you attach to those two roof structure supports? How much does that weigh?

I put 6mm rivnuts in where the 4 headliner clips went. The clips still fit if I decide to pull it out. Thinking about making some more as I have a bunch of the 2x2 mesh left.

I would do it the same. The rivnuts in the ceiling have been holding up great.

Like your approach here. I had the good fortune to spend some time with [MENTION=148218]JZiggy[/MENTION] yesterday and after explaining what I'd like to do, he mentioned your name. i was wondering if you used rivnuts, and you did. Well done. Probably didn't even need to remove the headliner?

So, a year later, have to ask, still holding-up well?

Here's a few different angles. Mostly existing handles and our D ring mounts up front though. Here's how they install. You could fold the front down as needed or all the time and then have the option to raise it up if that suited the storage needs better when you wanted.
We do make a back cargo area ceiling net too. You could then have choices of specific vertical barriers that would have a tighter and more contoured fit to the 4Runner. Just depends on how closed up that back needs to be really.

Actually I'm mostly interested two things: (1) a barrier between the rear passenger area and rear cargo which I see you guys also make (I swear you guys didn't have this last time I checked!), or (2) a barrier between the front passenger and rear passenger areas (mainly as a barrier between the two seats). I think a net like yours would be perfect.

For the front, it's mostly to keep the dog back. He likes to sit with his face right up next to me. Makes it hard to see around me sometimes. And I'm afraid of him being thrown forward in case of an accident or under hard braking.

For the rear, it's so that I have less worry about things flying around in case of an accident. Right now all the big items are tied down, but often I'll have a few smaller bags/items just thrown in back there. A barrier would be great protection from those smaller items.

Going with a barrier in the rear area, having a ceiling net would just be a side-bonus.

Any ideas about whether you guys might have another solution for this?
