3rd gen wont start cause of rain/snow need help!!!!

ok i have a 99 4runner so i bought it in november and i was told that sometimes in the rain it will sputter out cause of the rain getting into somehting..so like i figured it happened at the sign of the first big rain storm..it rained and it started up but ran very rough so i tried to drive it and it continued so i let it sit and it dried out a lil but still did it but i drove through the sputter then it ran fine so it went through the whole winter without doing it again and now this morning it was sleeting with some snow and it started up fine then i started to drive it then i made it prob a 1/4 mile from my house and it sputtered and bogged then stalled out so i started it back up again while i was still rolling and nothing so i figured rain got into something so i let it sit for a while and now nothing it wont start and i have no idea what could of happened like it will crank but it wont turn over so if anyone could help that would be great
