4 snowboards & 5 people without roof rack mount?

My sis wants to borrow my car to go snowboarding and she was wondering if it's possible to fit 5 people and 4 snowboards inside the car? Has anyone tried? (Pics would be helpful if you have!)

And NO, I don't want to install a roof rack mount for snowboards. I simply don't have the space to store one and I already have 2 other racks for mountain biking and a loadwarrior and I personally don't snowboard.

She said she was able to fit 4 people and 4 snowboards in her solara.

Seems to me the standard roof rack and a bunch of bungees would work.

In the trunk with the seat folded down which doesn't seem hard when there's only 4 people in either car.

5 people will fit in the truck and 4 snowboards will fit on the roof. They would all fit inside but it wouldn't be comfortable. Get a racket strap and secure the boards to the roof. No need to buy a snowboard specific rack for one trip.

It's usually the road salt and debris that is a concern.

you can fit 5 in the truck then strap all the snowboards down onto your loadwarrior. Everything in the truck wouldn't seem possible especially with all the other gear you'll have to bring. Boots, gloves, goggles, extra clothes for 5 ppl...

I guess it depends on the board size, but you couldn't lay them diagonally in a X pattern? 2 upside down crossing, and 2 right side up crossing? or lay them flat on the back tailgate and towel them up for padding, and close the glass as much as you can. They aren't very heavy. I don't know...just throwing out some random thoughts.

Edit: I don't mean it to sound like you are supporting the whole board on the tail. I mean lay the ends of the boards out the back with towels on it.

I do trips with 5 people in the 4Runner a couple times a year. I couldn't even imagine stuffing boards and skis inside also. Tell them to tie their boards to the roof. It keep the boards from unnecessarily scratching and gouging up interior panels and upholstery.

4 people, 4 boards with luggage and the 40% second row folded down. Unless you have the rear window open you're not fitting fullsized adult boahatrds inside without at least one secons d row seat folded down.

Do they not have travel bags? I have a nice travel bag for mine, wouldn't want it to get dirty/wet, but if it came down to it, the bag is sturdy enougb for the elements.

She told me there is a length restriction on the board but you can just fold down 1 seat not the whole backseat so it sits 4 and snowboards trunk to the last seat that's folded down. Obv its not gona be "comfortable" but you do what you gotta do.

She said she's done it before in her friends 4runner by putting the boards in 'X' position so I'm telling her to take pics this time around if she's able to cram all the snowboards. If not I'll just have her ratchet it up on the roof rack as last resort.

Hmm I can see cramming boards in the 4runner ! But not Solara . But i guess if you want to go then go they will ! young people who knew ?

Just got back from Tahoe, and I doubt this is possible (keeping it all inside). I recommend putting the boards not he roof (wrapped in large trash bags if you are worried about the elements). You might be able to stack them over the center of the middle seat assuming the 5th passenger is decapitated or a little person. Otherwise with luggage and 5 passengers you are running out of room quickly.
