4 th gen v6 valve cover gasket

Has anyone change it before? Mine has failed on the front passenger side.

I may be changing mine during the week of Thanksgiving. If i do ill be posting pictures here. I'm taking the car in for the 30K Monday so they can have a look and I'll decide then.

The process to replace them isn't bad at all. When I pulled mine the gaskets came off very easy. Slow and steady when lifting would be helpful here.

NWSKI, I just read your thread and the link about the oily spark plugs and they helped alot. Thanks for the tip skyline. If i can find the gasket locally i will be changing it this weekend. Should i change both sides since I'm under the hood, or if its not broke don't fix it?

I would do both just for insurance but its up to you in the end. When I installed my cam gears the gaskets where fine to reuse but I decided to be safe and replace both sides. I would put something to block off the intake while your working just to be safe.

wow. those pictures just intimidated the crap out of me. am i going to have to unplug a bunch of wiring or just move them around?

You might be able to get away with moving some of them around, but to me it made the job easier to disconnect them.
