Thanks all, yes it is a Amazon cheap android deck no name running the torque app. Works pretty good, can datalog also. I'd say its worth it just for the trans temp. I do drain and refill my trans fluid every 30K or so with my diff fluids. Might seem excessive but has worked for me. Also do my radiator drain and refills at the same intervals. Oil every 5K on the dot. I did go through about 4 batteries, 2 alternators, a serpentine auto tensioner, 2 front driver side axles and both front wheel bearings twice. Only 99K to go for half a million!!!

I think the 2003 V6's were on the safe side of the head gasket problems. But for the 2004, 2005, and some of 2006's not so much.

You mean the other way around? Most HG failures have been 03-04. Some 05 and sporadic 06-09. Supposedly the HG was redesigned halfway through the 2005 model year. I thought there was a poll on this somewhere.............
Some of us are lucky, others not so much (me knock on wood).
I remember seeing somewhere that it was plausible to think that old coolant can contribute to the deterioration of the HG. As most of us know, most owners don't bother to get the coolant replaced (these are scheduled to be replaced at 100K miles. Again, lots of owners don't bother as they trade them in AND dealers that resell them don't bother).

Good grief. Who cares?? If someone needs a V8, that's their prerogative. So $333 per year (avg over 12 yrs of ownership) is deemed excessive or something?
I don't own a V8. But find it hilarious some people seem to need reassurance of their purchase by putting others down.

Haha... I currently own and drive a V8 as my daily driver. $4,000 is a lot of savings... I like to keep my hard earned money.
