haha, got an aluminum Omaha bat that might just work, only problem is that the frickin theives don't have anything to steal now! I talked to the police again today and they said it may be the same guy... they are just having problems linking him to breaking in... plus they can't find the guy... Just aggravating as heck!

Yeah I bet. Just lay under your truck every night and cut the tendon above their heel when they try it again. That'll slow them down enough for your bat. :satan:

I had always considered some sort of super glue that could stay tacky until contact was made with a heat source (like a hand), then it became like cement. Unfortunately it does not exist (or at least I have not been able to find it). I had my 67 Mustang broken into when I was in college. They cut wires, busted the dash apart, stole amps/speakers, and other stuff loose in the car. Took me nearly a year of putting everything back together and finding the parts I needed. I do feel your pain.... Just can't offer any cheap (or good) suggestion. One thing I would try to do if/when you replace things would be to park in a different lot and possibly change your plates. Whoever broke into it knows you will probably replace things with insurance money and might try to do it again.

Thanks, would a junkyard have the dash parts i would need for cheap and in good shape? I don't think the insurance will cover the stuff, but my deductible is 250, is it worth trying to find the window+dash parts for under that or should i go ahead and turn it in?

Also on forums like this it's not always the best idea to "advertise" what's in your truck and you've listed all your goodies in plain sight.
I would have to agree with this statement.

Those pictures are just too hard to look at. I can't imagine that happening to my car. I hope everything works out for you. You'll have to keep us posted.

I trust ya'll though, I guess that's what i get... I don't think anyone who regularly reads/responds on the forum would do it... Maybe someone looking for it though... People these days...

Wow that blows! twice? i remember reading the first one, and now again? i dont know what to say, but, maybe invest on a very good alarm with proximity sensors before you do any bling stuff inside your 4R. and the darkest tint.

sorry to hear that, i suspect he same guy did it since they know the truck doesnt go berzerk once broken into.

ok so the university won't pay for anything... THey gave me some state board of adjustment number and told me to contact them... has anyone ever had an experience with their board of adjustment??? Still no word on finding a dash either...

Well he could have gotten it with money from a birthday or Christmas, or just had a little money saved up. People automatically assume that if you added something to your 4runner that you are lying when you say money is snug. He could be using his money for other things like school, hobbies, etc...

Apparently not so snug you couldn't buy a big fancy stereo/amp/sub box, etc?

Sucks though. Good luck.

Thanks josh220, Actually spud, I'm paying for my truck, i've paid for everything i've done to my truck, all the way down to changing my own oil, and for an 18 year old kid i'd say thats pretty damn respectable. I recently went to college so i had to quit my job, so i've been paying my truck payment from the money in my checking acct so yeah money is snug... Next time you decide to rip on someone else's life, please make sure you know the details.... Oh and thanks so much for the helpful advice you gave...:wtf:

No problem, people always give me sh*t when I say I don't want to spend money on something, just because I have a long list of mods in my sig. It's annoying as hell. They don't take into account that I may have blown all of my money on those mods, and now want to save up. As I am sure that you have other financial needs as well and can't put everything at once into your truck, especially when it keeps getting broken in to.

It's different to put $$ into it when you want to add mods, than unexpectedly having to fork out money because some fake thug wants to bust in for a stereo.

And bro, your mods sound pretty nice, do you have any pics of your truck on the forum somewhere? I'm interested in how it looks.

thanks man, i hate whn people group me with the "spoiled kids who don't know what a radiator cap is" i really do work hard on my vehicle and take a lot of pride in keeping it in tip top shape... That's why i feel like i've been raped almost... This is the only thing i really own and have really worked hard on it, and for someone to come by and ruin it, hurts my feelings more than my checkbook!!! Here's a few pics i have handy... I'm probably gonna get it all cleaned up this coming weekend when i'm home for the holidays and i'll snap a few more then...
