That kid's a real rocket surgeon. Nice clean installation too.
Another sucker that fell for the HHO scam. I repaired quite a few engines back in the day, with burned valves, and other problems, from running excessively lean because of those HHO Mason Jar "gas-saving wonder kits".
I always tell them they should read up on the first law of thermodynamics.

the reason its not acurate is not because of how much he filled the tank, its not accurate because he needs to fill up at a gas station drive the stretch then drive back and then fill up at the same pump, just like how guiness requires for land speed records, you need to do it both ways to negate wind and any slopes.

IN my old 97 limited I used to get 27-28 with a best close to 30 coming back to Denver from the western slope.
Headed to kansas to the lake I used to avg 26 on the way and 24 on the way back. It should be noted I rarely speed, usually set cruise on the speed limit and I worked for a lubricants company so I always had new fluids and the top shelf additives too.
I was also super anal about tracking everything and where I filled up. For 227k miles I tracked every tank, brand, octane and I could tell you which stations from here to durango, to grand junction would yield the best MPG. For me conoco would be 3-4 less loaf and jug was average and shell 87 was the best.
With the "new" 01 we just got we will see if I can do this again.

I got 20-21(mostly highway) with my almost bald 31 inch tires went up to 32 inch duratracs and I'm getting 16-17 (highway). Keep in mind I don't drive conservatively when calculating mpgs. I drive like I would normally.
I found that most people don't actually know how to calculate their mpgs accurately. When I was told a jeep wrangler was getting 27 and a 2003 camry was getting 40 I began wondering if these people were not just talking out of their uhhh -bottoms.

I have a 97 v6 sr5 4wd with 265/75/16 tires that is past due for a tune up. On my scangauge2 i normally get 16 to 18 city but last fill up i used a different brand gas station and noticed i get 20 to 21 now. I dont do much daily highway driving so this is all city. Keep in mind ethanol amounts will effect mpg the more ethanol the more fuel is needed. Since oil prices have dropped maybe there is less ethanok being mixed/wattering down the gas.
