Ok ... after growing up in all formative years with an FJ ... putting 200k on it thru high school and college ...then restoring it ... shopping the new FJ Trails for awhile only to feel the bang for buck was in well equipped 4Runners ..then falling in love with TRD Pro ... I now own one (White) so I came across this site and love all info .... TRDPRORUNNER you are the man!
So I am debating Gobi Rack v. powder coat the rails ... leaning toward the flexibility of the Gobi. Like to add a couple of the accessory tool boxes for recovery accessories, jumper cables, etc. then as my off road use is beach driving that requires a shovel, block of wood and jack ... doing mounts for it.
Anyway couple of questions.
1) has anyone mounted those tool boxes on a gobi stealth rack (is that 2 up front)
2) what is the best way to get compressed air on board
3) whats the best LED conversion product (I assume this is for interior lighting?)
4) does anyone make a super solid and sturdy tool kit that works well on roof rack mounts
5) has anyone made a nice storage box for on top or within the side of the rear wheel wells

Glad you enjoyed the Build thread & hope it helped in some way. Well, I may be able to chime in on a couple things listed, but others here will be a great resource for you as they are more able to answer some of these such as custom storage solutions or mounted compressors.
1. I have the RotoPax tool boxes (x2) on the sunroof insert. I also have a RotoPax 4gal gas container at the back. As much as I like the GOBI toolbox, I didn't want to leave it up there permanently as a box full of tools gets heavy (provided you're not taking them all out everytime). My desire is to have functionality WHEN I need it, but then shed it for Daily Driving. I love the GOBI stealth/ladder combo and sounds like you would to given your plans. it does add approx. 95 lbs up there and you can feel it slightly. It was enough weight that turned me into the modular route. Given the power situation of the T4R, I'm staying lean daily, then add things as needed per the given trip.
2. I have a portable compressor, so bring it only when needed = less weight again.
3. LED conversion I'm working on now... trying to find the best route...

Only that we switch quads! No really though, I'm happy to share anything I find in my searches for tweaks, builds & mods.
However, there are a few great existing threads on LED's already. I'm trying to see what I want to do and still researching before I pull any triggers.

Just a quick tip that helped me save roughly $2k off MSRP of a new TRD PRO.
Most dealers I contacted wanted MSRP for the truck, but I filled out a Truecar.com form and found a dealer willing to give me the Truecar certificate price. This was around $2k off. Might vary for each region im not sure. Just thought this may be helpful for those still looking.
I do not have the truck yet as it is supposed to arrive at the dealer in a few weeks but I was able to get a signed agreement from them on the price.

I've tried this strategy, hasn't worked in SoCal. I have yet to see one in the flesh at a dealer. There is an Inferno TRD PRO Tundra at Glendale Toyota in SoCal if anyone wants to see the color. I like it but will try for white, I just have a feeling I'll grow tired of the inferno, but it is nice.
This must vary by region. No dealer in our area (3 of them) would budge off of MSRP. The three dealers in our area will not honor the True Car pricing on the Pro models (they will on the others). You guys getting a price break are lucky, very lucky.

Mine just got to my local dealer! Went with white. Only thing I could get from them was free tinting of the windows.... Would not budge on MSRP.

That is also what I did to get a deal on my trd pro but unfortunately I am still waiting for mines to come in
I tried that first, but no dealers in SoCal had any TRD Pros on the lot nor would they honor the TrueCar price for the few that were trickling in. I literally called about 30 dealers in California near the end of October and about a third of them said they were not getting any TRD Pros in period, about a third said the single one they had coming in or previously received was/were pre-sold/sold, and the other third said the ones they were getting in would be priced at at least MSRP to up to $10,000 over sticker! (Most dealers wanted $1,500 to $5,000 over MSRP and were/are getting that price too.)
I lucked out in finding a dealer who was getting a white one equipped the way I wanted it and was willing to take $1,000 off MSRP because I don't think they really knew how limited the TRD Pro is.
Those of you who were able to get an MSRP or under deal should count yourselves lucky. Personally, I'm just glad to have been able to get the vehicle I wanted in the color I wanted with the options I wanted for a little under MSRP.

what options are different on these, I've been following the tacoma so not too sure on the 4runner stuff but the only option that really varied was the tow package

Pretty sure that you guys got the good E36 M3, so I guess it's a tradeoff of sorts.
