4runner TRD Pro

Woot, woot, pick it up Monday!

Hmmmm....I think I'll go over there and see if I could do a quick test drive of it...just an hour or so down to the river bottoms and sand pits. I hope they give you a free car wash when you pick it up cuz it'll sure need it!

Looks like Sean also scored a lifetime power train warranty!

Congrats on the beautiful 4Runner and welcome!

Speaking of warranties....I'll search this site to see if there's info posted but does anyone have advice on who to buy one from? I know with Chrysler there's a company that sells a very solid warranty for much less than what dealerships sell them for.

I drive a ton of miles so I'm going to want a great warranty!

The majority of Credit Unions offer extended warranties that are as good as the ones the dealers offer, and most cases better coverages. They are lessor in price too!

Careful now. It had not been through the PDR process. I drove it from the storage lot where it got dropped off to the dealership to have that process completed and it went to 2. It was over a mile but registered 1 until about 6 blocks when 2 hit the odometer.

Interesting how it is getting 2.6 MPG when it has only gone a mile.

Dude! Yours was sitting in the lot with a sold badge on it. It has a real mean look to it. That skid plate is not skimpy!

They let me test drive it and the mechanics set up a jump for me in the back lot. We took turns playing dukes of hazard.

Awesome!!!

I made my own TRD pro courtesy of FJ steelies and Blizzaks.

No question rolling your own is a better deal moneywise if you start with a non-TRD and customize it how you prefer, which is what I did. But having Toyota put the whole thing together and have it come with a warranty is a legit way to go too...just more expensive. It's just fun to see them in the real world...

Mine at the dealer today. Picking it up this week. Drove by today and they have it front and center with a big sold sign and my name!

Awesome!
That roof rack with the steps are perfect.
Surprised you changed the Nittos, although you did mentioned in an earlier post trouble in mud.
From your posts I guess you put a lot of mileage on the truck.
What kind of gas mileage were you getting before the roof rack and after?
Lastly how much were the rack and steps?
I am definitely going to paint the trd pro badge red to match the wheel hub.
Again looks awesome.

Just got the spec sheet from my dealer and it lists the color as attitude black when I wanted super white. Trying to decide if I would be happy with the black one now. Not sure if it was an allocation issue or just dealer screw up, but I'm pretty bummed since I had it in my mind that I would be getting white.

On a somewhat related note, what do you guys feel is the best source for trade-in values? Kelley lists the trade in value of my 2010 LE about $5k higher than Edmunds True Value ($28k vs. $23k). Black Book lists a range of $22.5-27.5k even after I specified good condition.

I'm starting to feel like my plan to get myself a new super white TRDP will end up with my wife getting a new Highlander (she wouldn't let me get a new car before her since she had a 2008) and me keeping my 2010 LE. Phooey!

Did you have that at Mellow Mushroom last night? I had the white 4th gen. Looked great, grill has an early 80 series look with the Toyota spelled out.

Hey guys,

First time post, long time Toyota owner. Thanks for all the pics , builds and opinions on your TRD Pros. My Dealer has a Super White on the way with my name on it. I'm looking at Mid to late November. She has already provided the Vin#, no money down. She mentioned she may get one sooner, I hope so, weather is awesome right now.

Just stopped into Riverhead Toyota on Long Island. They have a black TRDP that is at the dock. They want 3k over MSRP! I really don't like this practice of charging more than list but I guess people are paying. Not me. If my dealer re-negs on my order I will be pretty upset.
