4runner TRD Pro

My TRD Pro sat at the port for almost 2 months. My sales guy said the wheels were too wide to get the vehicle out, so they had to remove the wheels (????).

Really?
Wheels too wide?

Definitely some other reason, but not wheels!
Wonder where salesman got his info!

You would think they would have had the same problem getting them in???

I could be wrong, and if I am I apologize, but I smell a troll here....nobody in their right mind would jump a brand new Pro unless he is very rich and doesn't give a rats a$$.

who said I had a "right mind"? ;)

BTW these crawl up anything very well. I made it up this loose dirt mountain in the highest setting of the traction control with the diff locked. the front was constantly adjusting the brakes to transfer power around for traction.

and let it be known you can get about two feet of air before bottoming. that's all I was looking to learn for future wheeling

I paid $500 under msrp. So my TRDP was $41,680.

:sobbing: cant believe you got a good deal like that! I paid about the same for my TEP.....(well MSRP was 41k and paid about 39K). :faint2: plus taxes and fees etc etc which is like 10k here in CA:rain: wondering if i should have just waited for a TRDP....

I guess $500 off is okay. Taxes are a B in Cali. I wish I could take the front license plate holder off and not use the front plate when it comes, but damn legalities.

Don't regret the TEP. You got KDSS and a sunroof. Not bad!

yea I guess its a trade off! I do like the truck a lot... and yea my down payment went straight to the state.

I also hate how they drilled holes in the bumper for the front plate! I'd rather just run without it and pay the $75 ticket if I ever get stopped hah!

How do you like your suspension? Does it glide over road humps without the bottom falling out? I like to cruise over them here in town but the rebound is a bit unsettled... haven't done any high speed stuff off road yet. KDSS is nice to have as well I suppose! :D

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but Toyota's website is now allowing you to add almost all of the TRDP components as options on any truck. Wheels are listed as only $215, strangely. Suspension, skid, mats, knob are all available.

Interesting, full TRD pro suspension can be added to trail premium with KDSS as an accessory...also lets you add the skid plate, obviously that is a mistake but these parts are available for every model as dealer installed accessories. Kind of takes the wind out of the sails on the exclusivity/ADM of the TRD Pro, even the floor mats are an option.
