4runner TRD Pro

Picked mine up today. Traded in my 2012 Tacoma TRD Off road 4 door that I thought was keeping til the wheels fell off... This 4Runner was too much for me to resist.

Took mine on an 800 mile trip this weekend from LI to Rochester NY, through NJ and PA, averaged 19.3 MPG. Best tank 20.2. Crazy rain, No Problem, 2 foot floods, No Problem, Huge pot holes, No problem. This thing rides so smooth. Interior is very comfortable. I may never own a car again. Everywhere I went people were asking me about the truck. Just real happy so far. Again Good luck and good choice.

actually not really/ because i did a trade theres a tax brake that saved me about 2k as well. i was going to put down what i thought i could sell my tacoma for but after all the math it came out about even because the tax difference when i trade in.

yeah the ride on this, even with the TRD suspenders, is night and day smoother than my TRD off road Tacomas', i cant imagine how much smoother the regular 4runners are

I went out to the range for some trigger time and then stopped off to do a little desert exploring. I really love all of the off road gizmos this thing has. I can't wait to do some more!

Thank you!! I'll post some more. I have a huge dirt lot with some cool trails outside my housing development. I got to test out the down hill assist. It sounded like the brakes and transmission were grinding.

yup, that would be your hill decent working. it uses brakes (and ABS) and power to control the rate so it sounds like all hell is braking loose....totally normal

To clear the confusion this is the location that the N-Fabs connect to the body and not the frame. Weather was much better today.

Thinking of getting the N-Fabs also. 4 wheel parts wants to charge almost $200 to install these so want to do it myself.

Just went out and checked under mine after seeing the pic. I see 2 holes as you show in back, 2 more in middle, but only one in front.

So...because of the confusion of install and orientation with Tacoma directions and flipping them around on 4Runner, did you have to drill an additional hole near front? If so, I assume you just match drilled, but the existing ones must have underlying threads and if you just drilled there would be none and I doubt a simple machine screw would hold so how did you install?

Crappy pic but jus drove it home from the dealer, paid 1400 below msrp+dealer add ons. This was the 4runner at the auto show if anyone attended. Wanted a better deal but the lady wanted it and didn't wanna hear that someone else bought it. Anyone pickup an extended warranty? does 6yrs 75000 miles for 1595 seem about right?

That doesn't seem like too bad of a price for the warranty. It is usually costs a bit more than that if you don't negotiate them down.

I think its been posted elsewhere but to confirm I just called the dealer to check on pricing on the 2 parts to convert the front end to the "Toyota" Grill

"Toyota" Garnish: $631.31
Upper Grille Radiator: $ 301.70

Total: $933.01 YIKES!

For that price I would image a autobody shop could make you a new matching upper and lower grill mesh and build a new center bar that you could put your own letters on (to save 100$ maybe not worth the effort, I was just blown away once confirming those prices)

Those parts can be found for around $650 total shipped from various online vendors. Still too much though...
