4runner TRD Pro

You guys are relentless.

These are easy to install (as long as you don't mind taking the shock apart to install the longer studs). Mark the top pieces with a marker/scratch, reassemble with the marks aligned and the new spacers on top. Done. Will give you about .75" lift.

i saw the studs and i immediately thought wheel spacers. i retract my statement.

Ok cool. Should be easy then. Is an alignment suggested after? People have mixed opinions.

I'm getting ready to do the same thing. I got 1.5" spacers for the rear and a set of 3/4" and 1/4" lift spacers for the front that I am going to stack. I also ordered some longer studs from WW. I'm going to play with it a little with the stacked spacers on the front. If there are alignment issues, or any other issues that I come across, then I will revert to just the 3/4 spacers. ---Yes, I'm a bit of a maverick.:flamewar:

Why stack? when you can just order the 1' Toyota Baja lift spacer that was posted 500pages ago? Good luck man.

Apparently some deity above has determined I shall not get a TRD Pro.

The closest Toyota dealership to my house had one listed 9/17/2015. Had to get home last night. This morning already gone. I just wanted to look at it, take a look if it has sliding tray, which actually has grown on me, helps with work.

Maybe the deity wants me to buy a 2017 or 2018. When the 4Runner comes out in the same blue as the Tacoma. Yeah, that's it.

Funny how there is so much hate for the TRD Pro , yet 1/2 pictures in here have TRD Pro parts swapped in on regular SR5s & Trails .

are you going to slip a winch in that front bumper? if no, you're adding nearly 200lbs to the front end, if yes you're adding nearly 300lbs to the front end.

the shrockworks rear bumper is just over (if memory serves me correctly, someone help me) 300lbs with the swing out. move your spare tire from under the ass end to the swing out and you've changed the cantilever effect of the weight of the tire further out, not to mention if you decide to add jerry cans to it.

so in the end, you've added hypothetically, more than 600lbs constant to the truck and changed the center of gravity greatly.

will you need to replace your suspension? oh yeah - now in comes the argument of why the TRD Pro is an economical waste.

Yea that was kind of what I figured. The front bumper is listed as 137lbs and the winch at 89lbs so that's a bit over 200lbs - still a lot. I have been unable to find a weight for the rear bumper but around 300 certainly seems in the ball park. I would think that much constant weight would warrant beefing up the suspension. And that's ok, most of what I really want the bumpers for can likely be accomplished by other means. As far as the TRD being an economical waste, in my case I disagree. Many factors went in to my decision and I am very happy with the decision I made. But having painfully read through this entire post I will leave it at that. I appreciate your input.

Look at Hefty Fabworks aluminum bumpers. Chris is a great guy and does fine work. He hooked up my Xterra back when I owned one. You'll save a ton of weight and shouldn't have any issues with changing your suspension unless you get a heavy ass winch like the Powerplant

Thanks for the tip. I looked at this website and I had not seen this option before. I do not like them quite as much as the shrockworks (I prefer the angle behind the rear tire on the SW and that they are close to my house so I can pick up) but this definitely looks like a viable option to look in to. I did not see a weight listed for the bumper but it must be considerably lighter. They also require you to cut up your existing rear, which I would probably prefer not to do. Thanks again for the info.

Yea I had shrockworks on my Xterra initially and swapped it all out for aluminum all over to help with weight. Complete lifesaver.

I'm not trying to undermine the value you placed in the Pro, you don't seem like a tool/******* so I have no reason to argue with you. All my point was, is that once you replace the suspension all the pro is is an appearance package. Adding all that weight and changing the COG would be better suited to be handled by a TE with KDSS.

However that's neither here nor there.

Before you get excited on the prospect of aluminum bumpers, run over to the front bumper thread and read my post on the downfall of the current aluminum bumper market.

The primary reason that I bought the pro is the inferno paint, front end, and wheels. All of that together = a good deal to me for what I paid OTD.
