4runner TRD Pro

Interesting, I went in there mid December, and the salesman and general manager told me they are selling the TRD Pro for 10K over MSRP. Man that pissed me off

$10k over MSRP?!?! I would have laughed in their faces. I laughed at their sales manager on the phone when they suggested I pay $3k over MSRP on one they had back in September/October. Anything over MSRP is simply not justifiable.

Glad you got one. They are super awesome. I've had two Tacomas before this 4Runner and honestly have no idea why I waited so long to switch.

Hope I'm posting at right place.

Followings are on its way to be mounted on my 2016 TRD pro 4Runner:
Truck Vault drawers
Gobi Stealth Rack with 40" LED Bar
Shrockworks Rock Slider

I don't know why the last picture stays horizontal even it is saved as vertical photo.

That's a fact! The 2016 Tacos made great strides to address a lot of that. My buddy just bought a 2016 TRD Off-Road and I took it out for a drive. It's really, really nice...but still isn't a 4Runner.

I would have bought a Tacoma. I can't do cloth interior though, and I didn't want a Limited. Other than that, the '16 Tacomas are pretty nice.

Yeah, I was really impressed by how nicely my buddy's 2016 O/R drove. The updated engine delivered noticeably more power, it was super quiet inside, and very smooth riding. I'm really impressed. No leather/SoftTex option is disappointing though, you're right about that.

I've never bought a new car before, please excuse my ignoramus questions.

I am calling dealers and they are quoting MSRP, which is understandable. Is there anything I can say to get some sort of deal? Do dealers throw in extra's like remote start or all-weather floor mats if they charge you MSRP ($43,984 +taxes)? Also, is the MSRP on Toyota's website inaccurate: $41,850 for base? The dealer quoting a few pennies over that relying on "our market price".

Has anyone had any luck saying you will pay Toyota MSRP and not a dime more?

I don't know that too many folks have had a ton of luck negotiating down from MSRP on the TRD Pros. I can tell you from the months of shopping I did trying to find exactly the one I wanted that there is absolutely no reason to pay a dime over MSRP, there are more dealers than not who are selling them for MSRP and not a penny more. I ended up paying $100 below MSRP for mine.

Sometimes you can get a $500 armed forces discount on them. And I had one dealer in Missouri (Clay Cooley I think it was) offer me their TRDP for $2,000 below MSRP, but having it shipped to CA ate into most of that savings so I didn't go with it.

Long story short, you probably won't pay much less than MSRP for your TRDP, but, it doesn't hurt to ask! Good luck!

I'm getting $1,500 off MSRP. Had two other dealers offer same. I've heard of better deals.

Like I said, the one in Missouri did offer me $2k off of MSRP, but out here in the Bay Area and CA in general (from what I ran into during my search) they're either sold before they even hit the lot, or being sold at MSRP.

Shop around. TX dealers offered $0 to $2000 off MSRP

I did have about 4 other out-of-state dealers wanting full MSRP. That seems to be common. Also had some willing to negotiate but insisted upon using their high APR financing. When I told them I had a preapproval and would just bring a cashier's check from my credit union, the deals suddenly fell through. That is super shady to me and a turnoff.

Purchased my 2016 Quicksand TRD Pro at Toyota of Dallas two weeks ago. Apparently the guy that originally ordered it backed out because he didn't like the color....... Tried to negotiate but wasn't able to get them to go a dime below MSRP.

Absolutely love it so far.

Almost the same situation with my TRDP lol. The only thing is I'm still waiting for it to be deliver to the dealer. They need to hurry up with the shipping!!!!!!!

Mine ships by vessel today. I am assuming 2 weeks after it hits port, +/- Would that sound about right?

It's great to know that it is on its way! how did you find out that? I mean that it was shipped today. I ordered mine on 12-30-15 and the salesperson told me it might take until 6 month to arrives to the dealer because I was the third person on the list.

Dealer sent me a screenshot of the order log with VIN. Shows build date, available to ship date, ship date, port arrival date estimate, then the port processing and rail/truck delivery fields are still blank.

Sweet... I hope to hear something from the my dealer soon... and hopefully it won't take 6 months as I was told.

My order was placed on or about 12/17, and it was built on 1/6. Ask your dealer for a Vehicle Inventory Summary Sheet or if he has a build date. Best of luck. I heard it's definitely worth the wait!

I bought my black Trail Edition 1wk before yours showed up. I saw yours on the lot when I went back to pick up a tail light.

I am thinking of getting a TRD Pro this year and have a question. I know these are low production models and there is a chance it is discontinued for 2017. Is there any thought on when they will all be spoken for? I am okay with waiting the 2-6 months or whatever it is to be built, but I want to time it correctly. Ideally I would wait until April (after taxes are due) and then place an order. Is that too late, or do you think I will still be able to order one in April/May? Thanks!
