i always wondered how that would work on vehicles that had substantial wait times. why did they devalue? miles?

Picked up on 2/23. Put down the deposit on 12/5.
I got the quicksand. I really dig the "militant" look of it. Also, I like the fact that there's not another 4Runner available in the quicksand. I like to try to be a little unique--just like everyone else.
second choice was that nice dark gray, but a friend TRD'd his trail premium and another friend did the same to his SR5 in the other gray. And my last car was white with black wheels--so the OBVIOUS choice was quicksand; besides, they were a really rad band!
I got the remote start (spoiled from the previous car), the roof rack cross bars (need to black out the rest of the roof rack--dealer charges $300 to wrap it with 3M vinyl) and I got the cargo area slide out thing... I don't think I like it... can it be removed without leaving crap behind?
Rides like a dream! Very happy for the 120-ish miles I've put on it so far...

I think you and I are the only ones with Quicksand (so far) that I know of here in Northern Utah. I'm up around the Ogden area. Congrats, nice choice.
Nice! I told them I didn't want the tint cuz I wanted limo all the way around and they couldn't do it. All I really care about is a window visor dash mate and floor mates. I wouldn't mind steps but other than that I'm happy the way it comes. Not sure if I should get Toyota floor mates or weather tech mates tho.
Do you mind expanding on what you dislike about the rear sliding cargo deck? It was one of the options I was looking at as well.
I like the sliding deck that. Was one of the plus things about it. Plus the sliding deck comes factory from what I read
sliding deck is an option but it is on at least 2/3rds of them.
Only seen a few Quicksand without it - and almost all the gray and whites have them.
Surprisingly I got my grey with no extras at all so it saved me on costs. Although I was kind of interested in the sliding cargo deck.
I hate the sliding cargo deck , when you slide it out it leaves a gap . If you have anything down to protect your cargo like a blanket in falls in the gap and stops the sliding deck from sliding back in . Stupid , You also loose measurable cargo space with it . I had it on my 2015 and ordered my 2016 without it.

I traded in an almost flawless 2013 F150 Supercrew FX4 fully loaded - initial offer of 32,400 was when it had 35k miles. (They tried to tell me they initially only offered 30k for the trade, I pulled up old text messages from the salesman and they made a comment like 'that's why he doesn't work here anymore.')
It had 41k miles when I traded it in.
When they offered me $32.4k for it, I owed $31k on it.
Six months later, when I traded it in for $28.5k, I owed $28k on it.
And to those wondering about the cargo deck, I got mine because I like to camp. Figured when pushed in, and the seats are laid flat It creates a perfect flat level surface to sleep on.

I agree with both of these opinions. The gap when open sucks, but the totally flat cargo area is nice. It is certainly a compromise.
Regarding the sliding cargo deck:
It is an "option" but the way Toyota builds them is per region. So although they may list it as an option there are regions where you can get it and regions where you cannot. When you input your zip it should tell you.

The wife and I are getting ready to purchase a 4Runner TRD Pro and in all of my research, I've found this forum to be the most useful so thanks to everyone here for sharing your knowledge and experience.
As we're not in a hurry, we've already negotiated with a local dealer to order one exactly the way we want AND it would appear that we've already reached an agreement with the dealer on price: ~$2300 below MSRP.
(I know, I know I'll believe it when it happens too...)
Here's my question:
While the sunroof is not a priority for us... is anyone out there aware of the possibility of ordering a TRD Pro with a sunroof?
Once again, the sunroof isn't the priority over the the other features the TRD Pro offers and the TEP just doesn't appeal to us as much as the TRD Pro.

$2,300 under MSRP is an excellent price to pay for a TRD Pro. I would jump on that deal before they change their mind.....what color u going with?
BTW, I just saw a 2016 jeep painted in "rino grey".....I hope the "cement grey" that toyota is planning in 2017 is similar.....it's a killer color!!!

If you want to know how it looks go look up the FJC Trail Team. Same color.

If its the same as the FJ TT Cement from 2013, it has a nice pearl to it, which isn't self-evident until you get within a few feet from the vehicle. It's a subtle and nice touch to an otherwise dull but unique color. For the record I like the Cement but it's defintely unique, like the quicksand color, you either usually love it or hate it after you see it in person.

I love the color, but not on the 4Runner. The FJC TT broke it up with enough black accents. Same issue I have with the Quicksand, with block black to balance it out it looks nice, too much of the color and it can be overpowering.
