Don't know what's in the mud there but the stench sticks around for weeks, even after repeated cleanings because it gets into every place it can including inside the box of the frame rails!

Plan on replacing mine with another regualt rim.

I thought of the same thing.

After a few trips off-road though I noticed that spare was acting like a "slider" for the rear of the truck. The TRD Alloy wheel in the underside spare position would get scraped up pretty badly depending on your off-road usage.

I might match the tire when my Nitto's wear out but as I won't be going the route of a swing-out wheel carrier on the rear bumper I think I will keep the cheaper steelie down underneath.

BINGO. it was Rausche Creek. on my way home a buddy of mine saw some photos i had posted to Facebook from the trip and he called me to tell me not to be the cool guy with all the Rausche Creek mud all over my truck and to power wash it off immediately. Apparently the "mud" there is very caustic. which makes sense because all around that area are coal mines. The place was strip mined all over the place. the soil is pitch black, so it makes sense that the stuff is like acid.

I got under the truck as best as I could to spray it down and get rid of all the muck that was all over the place. I'm still nervous there's more that i didn't catch and hate thinking about the fact that there's shit underneath my truck chewing away at it. ugh.

it was a great time though. Truck did great.

Just have to figure out how to make sure everything got cleaned off.

The trdp colors were all confirmed at the Chicago auto show... No need to reserve one... There's lots of pros in every color around all the sales region inventories that are not allocated. These aren't really limited production models, just another model to choose from.

They are definitely limited. Most of the dealers I have been to says they see one a year. A couple of the dealers said they might get two.

I have read 2400 are made and seeing that there are 1200ish dealers in the USA the numbers make sense.

If you really want a cement one best bet is to get in early - put the $500 or $1000 down and tell your dealer you want one. This way your dealer will get first dibs on a cement and you will see it around January/February.

When you start seeing them hit the lots you can keep an eye out for a dealer that posts one via cars dot com or autotrader and try to get one earlier.

Another thing I was told is that Toyota cannot "order" cars. You can pick your colors/options and they will be first on the list to receive that vehicle or one close to it.

my mistake. i think you're right. it looks like a lot of people have been adding them on. i think it is tacky.

That one looks DIY and looks wrong. The rear factory emblem is placed higher and a bit inboard. Looks much better.

Good link - still surprising because they are not easy to get and dealers will not give them up to another dealer once they have them.

I also saw the guy who ordered one in California and two other people ordered at the same dealer. When it came it was first come first serve between the three.

Has somebody noticed a click or maybe kinda relay sound when starting to roll forward from being parked? I hear that every morning when I pull out from the garage after like maybe 5 seconds. Not sure if it is an ABS sound or what?

I am purchasing a R.Pod camper model 179. About 2600lbs. and 20' long. Has anyone towed similar? If so how does the TRD do? Maybe post your pics of larger loads.
