In the TRD Waiting Room

I just placed an order for a TRDP this weekend. Waiting for allocation info. Got it for base MSRP + %50 of whatever options Toyota adds to it up to $500 max out of my pocket. My only requirement is white.

What is your experience with the manufacturing/delivery process?

Any way to monitor it online?

Luckily, I had a good sales guy that checked in with me every two weeks or so and gave me an update. I didn't ask about online monitoring. Good luck and congrats. You are going to love it. More and more pleased each time I drive it. Looking forward to the next 200k miles.

can't really do much until the dealer provides the VIN. Once you have the VIN any dealer should have at least one person that handles inventory/ allocation that can punch in your VIN and give you a status on where the vehicle is at in the production/ delivery cycle. There was a guy on tacoma world that worked at a dealer that was doing this for the new 2016 tacoma owners last fall but I can't find the link anymore...

Hey guys, TRD PRO tundra owner here (inferno):flame:. It's finally time to get my wife her 4 runner and we have a quicksand pro that we are first in line for, will be here in 3-4 weeks. We are having a hard time deciding if we are ok with the color or want to wait for a cement pro 4runner. Who knows if and when the dealer will get the cement color. Our dealer wont mark up from msrp because we are repeat customers, every other dealer in CA is asking $4k markup on 4runner pros.

How do you quicksand owners feel about the color after owning it for awhile? How about anyone who has seen it in person? We are going to go in when it arrives and my wife will be so excited I don't want her to just settle. I know its ultimately up to us but I just wanted some feedback from those who own the quicksand color or have seen it in person.

I think quicksand is one of those love or hate colors. Before I got my mgm I had looked at getting a quicksand or like you wait for the cement. Wife saw a quicksand in person and was not keen on it at all. Found the deal I wanted on a Mgm so I never had to wait for the cement. I think when you can show her it in person you'll know right away.

Sent from two cups and a string

My wife didn't like the color when she saw it, and the sales guy made the comment that most wives don't like it seems the husband usually does. He then asked if I hunted and fished and said those guys seem to like the quicksand color.. I liked that its not an everyday color you see around, there is one other quicksand trdp around my area, I really wanted inferno but its no longer offered.

You really have to see the quicksand 4R in person....I saw one at my local dealer and was blown away......looked nothing like any of the photos I had seen online. It's sharp.

I'm in Salinas/Monterey area, and am waiting shipping of a Quicksand from a dealer in Montana. I really like the color - besides being somewhat unique, it will be cooler than the grey, and should show less desert pin striping than the white (plus it seems 2/3 of all vehicles are white today).

I went to Montana via cars.com both to find the quicksand, and to not pay the markup. Discount from MSRP covered the shipping cost.

Agreed, wife and I went to a few stores and found one in quicksand.. Wife loved it but I love the pro in white . Now she is pissed at me that I ordered the white one, can't ever win.

Can't keep white clean. Quicksand hides everything. I'm also assuming quicksand will hold value better if that matters to you.

I found a quicksand after months of looking and put a deposit down without ever seeing one up close. My wife didn't like the color online, but loved it in person. I haven't driven it much as I am delivering it to my clearbra guy tomorrow to get a clearbra put on the front bumper, entire hood, lights, fenders, a pillars, rear bumper, and a coat of Opti Pro Plus. It came with the door clearbra and rock area protection.

Windows have been tinted, weathertech are in tomorrow, I am in the group buy for the C4 rock sliders. Only thing I am trying to figure out the best way to do now is blackout the rear emblems.

I am also surprised at the amount of man love this thing gets lol. I had neighbors coming over after I got it, random people at the tint shop were peaking in the garage bay to check it out, stopping a grocery store I had a couple guys mention how awesome it was.

My wife loved the quicksand color when she saw it in person. I would have bought her the base SR5 if it came in quicksand to save some $$$. Unfortunately I have to spring for the TRD pro for her to get that color! She will probably never take it off roading. She likes that it looks military. I kinda like that color because it's unique and will probably have higher resale value.
