4runner TRD Pro

Has anyone looked at their wheel width? When mine arrived the techs thought the tread looked wider. Checked the wheels and low and behold 17 x 7 1/2" J

I was expecting 7". Nice surprise! Just finished installing a TRD CAI just for the look and sound.

The photo is upside down and i even reversed the image. There is an unload transfer problem

7 1/2? Have a any other 2017 pro owners found this also?

Is there a noticeable difference in the sound? Did you also do exhaust? Curious because I've heard a lot of different views on the CAI. I do like the look for sure.

I'm getting the S/S Gibson cat back dual side outlet installed on Tuesday. Screaming deal from Jason.
I'll report on Wednesday.

Would LOVE to see some pics of your confirmed 7 1/2 in width wheels....

Here is my experiences with CAI and Cat-Backs.

1. 2005 T4R: AFE CAI with Dry Filter and TRD Cat. Droned right at highway speed. The CAI whistled and was noisy. Really screamed at WOT.

2. 2014 T4R: TRD CAI-Wet Filter and Borla CAT: Very nice set-up. Borla Cat only noticeable under WOT. Slightly louder at highway speed. The TRD CAI also very quiet. No whistle, slightly louder under normal acceleration and nice growl at WOT.

3. 2017 TRDP: TRD CAI-AFE Dry Filter and Borla Cat. Again, very happy with this set-up.

Search the forum and there are several threads on TRD CAI. Finally someone dyno'd before and after results. Confirmed you do see a slight bump in HP/Torque. Where I noticed it was at highway speeds and pulling hills. Realized 1+MPG increase in fuel mileage-Summer blend fuel.

Good Luck

Are there no headers for the 4runners? Has anyone worked with Dirty Deeds industries for a full exhaust system yet? He's big over on the Tundra forums, just sold my Tundra and looking to get into a 4Runner, waiting on release of the 2018 to see if it's worth the wait or pick up a low mileage 2014 and start a build.

Installed the Xtreme HID kit today. IMG_4629.JPGIMG_4628.JPG

2016 here.. The sticker on my door jam indicates 17"x7.5", but the markings on the back of the wheels clearly states 7".

x2 for photographic evidence. I sure hope it's true, though I remain skeptical.

Also, if true, we're gonna need that part number too. :thumb3:

Jimster can you photo your wheel dimensions? See keepITreal's photo post #7357
