4runner TRD Pro

Really like the Borla. Had a TRD Cat on my 05 T4R. Was loud and droned. Only thing I liked was the side exit. Had the Borla on my 14 TE and now on this and very happy. It's quiet, just a little louder then stock and no drone.

Nice. I've never done exhaust for anything under a V8 in past vehicles. I hate when a v6 exhaust sounds like it's "trying too hard" - if that makes sense

It is finally in today! Picking up tomorrow! Pictures by end of weekend. For everyone that has been waiting, it will be worth it!

Picked up Friday evening and I must say that the pictures don't do it justice! These are truly beautiful vehicles! For those of you waiting, you won't be disappointed. The color definately changes with the lighting. We added the step bars and bug shield, plus personalized plate holders. They sent one by mistake, the second one is one the way. Also covers for chrome screws when plates get installed. Details, details!

Ugh so sexy

Did you get the steps installed by toyota or are those sold by a 3rd party?

I was just at a dealer with an incoming Cement.

Talked to them a week ago but they wanted 3k over... told them I'm in the market for a highlander and Pro with my TE for trade but won't pay above msrp.
Got a call back saying they can do msrp if the numbers work...

they offered 16K for my TE so I walked out.

Can't believe these dealers are still in business with these practices.

There was one guy advertising in this thread that his dealer had a cement and white TRDP coming in. It had a mandatory "rustproofing" package on it in addition to the truck being sold at MSRP. Obviously it hadn't sold with that package on it, so later the salesman says the rustproofing package can be taken off with the truck being sold at MSRP. The catch? Must do with Toyota financing and toyota financing only... and anyone that has done financing through Toyota knows that they don't offer the most competitive rates...

TRD Pro Order Cancelled?

Has anyone has this happen to them on a 2017 TRD Pro? A friend last night told me his dealer called to let him know his order was "cancelled" by Toyota. Then they led into other 4Runners already on their lot instead that they could sell him. He was in the same boat as me as far as getting one delivered in May/June after the April orders go in. Last I spoke with my dealer all was good and no worries.

I thought this maybe sounded like his dealer misleading him, but just curious if anyone else has had this happen on their 2017 order.

They prob couldnt allocate on for him, not every dealer can. Go to another dealer. Being that its a special order, id throw $500 down on one.

Does every dealer get a set allocation for this model or what might cause them to not be able to allocate one?

From what i was told by my dealer, not every dealer is entitled to a TRD Pro. Your dealership has to have a certain sales threshold in order to allocate one. You are better off going to the bigger dealership to order one being that they have more sales, and will most likley be able to get one for your friend. The key is to special order it by throwing down $500.00

I'd say "cancelled" is dealer-speak for "not accepted". Difference is it makes it sound like "Toyota's fault" vs "we're dumbasses for even attempting to order one when we should have known better."

Worse, it's 50-50 likely they took his order and deposit (?) with full knowledge, hoping to swing him to something in stock. Some dealers have few scruples.

It would be interesting to know why "Toyota cancelled his order." Ask your friend the reason they gave.

I shot him a text so we will see what he says. I know that the difference between he and I is that I did put down $500 but the dealer he used said putting any $$$ down was not required.

Cancelled, no but forgot about, yes. I laid down some money with a dealer in October for a TRDP tundra and found out last month the order slipped their minds. They forgot about the check as well but at least they found it. Needless to say, I took my check back and really I'm over the whole TRDP thing.

What I had to do was to call over 100 dealers in United States and asked around. I got dizzy calling and asking same thing over and over. Finally, one dealer in Texas said they had 2. One of them, they couldn't find it but the other one, I placed the deposit right away and began the buying process.
I didn't rely on the dealer but handled it myself. I just wanted to say that it can happen because I got my 2017 TRD Pro Cement within 3 weeks of deciding that I want that vehicle. Good luck. =)
