I placed a deposit on a trd pro 4Runner in cement, it had all these optional options installed already and the only one I don't like is the hood protector. Can anybody tell me if the hood protector that Toyota sells is drilled into the hood? Can it easily be taken off without damaging the hood? TIA

if you are talking about the bug guard, it has fasteners that overlap the front of the hood and to cushion the fasteners from the hood are these clear pieces of "tape" to keep them from rubbing. The guard will come off and the fasteners, not sure about the tape. Mine also came with the paint protection for the front, we installed the bug guard over the top of that, but still applied the "tape" to cushion the fasteners. The fasteners do go in pre-drilled holes under the hood, so they won't show when you take it off as long as you can remove the tape.

Well Ive had a $500 deposit down on a cement 4runner since 2/4/17 and I found out on saturday the 4runner will be built 3/14/17 and shipped 3/31/17.

The issue is now my trade in. Another dealer appraised it and gave me a really reasonable offer when you include the tax incentive however the dealer I bought my T4r from wont do the appraised value even when the other dealer said they will buy it from the dealer I got my 4Runner from.

Honestly after dealing with the Used car manager Im very close to canceling my order on my runner all together. Im expecting a call this afternoon after the GM and the used car sales manager get together and discuss.

I am paying MSRP but what they need to realize here is there isnt anything special about the 4runner in a sense, I can go to any other Toyota dealer and order another one, yes I will be waiting longer but Im fine with that.

I also had a lot of time. Not sure what kind of car you are replacing, but I had a Toyota Camry. I ended up consigning it with a local used car lot and was able to get more for it than selling it outright myself. Since you have the time, it could be an option to consider over trade-in. They weren't going to give me but half of what they could sell it for. I was able to close that gap substantially going consignment.

Not Tank, but I took my TRDP w/ 265 KO2s to Tahoe this weekend as well. 24" overnight on Saturday night and another 20" on Sunday. I've never driven in this much snow before, but I think it did pretty well:

A few (30) minutes later after pulling out of the driveway (4L + diff lock + digging required!):

You are running 265/70r 17 KO2s on this? Stock TRDP suspension? C load rating? I was going to switch the Nittos with the KO2s day 1 if possible...Thoughts on them? They looks so much better than Nittos. FOund some on local Craigslist for $820 installed....brand new.

I have to agree with Engieeer. I also never drove through that much snow but it did well with 4L and Def locks.

Did you go out on Sunday? That was one of the best powder days I've experienced.

265/70R17 E rated KO2s with everything else stock. I decided to stay with 265 vs. going up to 275 because I don't think the added width is going to do much for me and I really didn't want to deal with potential rub.

I had KO2s on my previous SUV and really liked them, which is why I swapped them out. I drove about 70 miles on the freeway and surface streets with the Nittos before I sold them and they seemed pretty nice. No excessive road noise and the ride was pretty smooth. I've driven about 430 miles with the KO2s and they're quiet and smooth as well.

KO2s having a more aggressive sidewall is a nice added benefit as well

Well, just talked to my dealer. My truck was built (born) on 2-1-17. Was loaded on the ship 2-4-17 with an estimated port arrival date of 3-6-17. Somebody slap me, I'm starting to get giddy!

Mine was scheduled to arrive at the port In Portland Oregon on March 6th as well. Should be soon now.

I got a call on feb 25th from my sales rep saying my Cement is reflecting Port processing . She says delivery should be sometime this week. I called today to follow up, but she still reflects port processing. Can anyone tell me how many surpassed between port processing and delivery? She said it could be any day. She was unable to tell me the port of entry so does know what port handles autos for olympia, WA region?

All Toyota's on West Coast go into Portland Oregon. Then they are trucked to your dealer in Olympia.

I just put a refundable deposit($500) down for a Cement TRD PRO 4Runner. Is $44k OTD a good deal considering they are hard to come by? Price is $500 below MSRP.
Price includes delivery processing and handling($960), doc fee($149) and few options(all weather floor mats/cargo tray, cargo cover, door edge guard, exhaust tip, paint protection film).

I got it with 46k out the door, so you did very well. I added a warranty which brought me up a bit, but it was worth it. I just sold my 2002 4Runner Sport Edition 4WD the week before. It was 14 years old. I'm sure I will keep this one that long

Congratulations! Did you buy it at Scott Clark Toyota? What warranty did you get?
I sold my 1999 4Runner limited with 215,000 miles last month. Just can't wait to get the PRO.

The dealer in CO that I just picked up my cement TRDP said that there is a supply issue for the black TRDP wheels that is causing production delays of these trucks. I have not confirmed this. Just reporting what this dealership said. (We were asking about ordering another one in Barcelona Red).

Has anyone heard this?

I did hear that Toyota is only now allowing the wheels to be purchased if you own a Pro only. So this sounds about right.

Traded in my 14 Limited for a 17 TRD Pro today. It's been a lengthy search but was definitely worth it. Toyota of Gastonia, NC was a pleasure to work with.

Can you comment on ride quality like body roll and handling and noise compared to your limited? do you get much tire noise or feedback?

Impression so far......(4 hour trip home from the dealer)

-ride quality is much, much better. All bumps & rough road felt very harsh in my Limited.

-tire noise is minimal. My Limited came stock with Bridgestones & I later added the Michelin LTX. The Nittos don't seem to be much louder.

-handling has been great. Got off the highway for a bit & took a backroad of hills & curves. Granted I was driving a bit more slow & cautious than usual.

-will follow up with more feedback when I've had a chance to try it out on familiar local roads.

As a side note my Limited seemed to always pull a bit to the right despite road surface & 4 wheel alignment/balance. No issues with that at all on the TRD Pro, very solid.

My TRDP pulls to the right since the day I picked it up. I need to make an appointment to get that fixed.

Thanks for the feedback I had a 2014 Limited as well and sold it a couple years ago so curious on the differences. I have a cement on order that should be here next week but have thoughts to simply get another Limited because of the feature differences is in the back of my mind. Really going to miss the Sunroof. I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off road that will be traded in so interested in ride quality. My other car is a 2016 X5M I like the stiffer ride with better handling but want something different in the second vehicle. Please let us know your thoughts as you rack up the miles
