TRD Pro under MRSP...do tell
Bought quicksand oct 30 2015. Vehicle was supposed to go to california but they messed up store numbers and it was sent to ohio. Called as soon as it hit cars.com and bought it for 41,500 with sliding cargo tray included as only accessory. Bought wife 17 red yesterday. Same thing, hit cars.com unclaimed and i got it for 1,000 under msrp.

talked to a dealer Friday with a Cement on a lot for 300 under msrp... it's got some crap I don't want and shipping would cost to much.
Also, A dealer in Oklahoma told me 500 under with orders through the internet dept.

I was going to buy a trd pro 4Runner to go along with my 2012 TE but decided to get a different truck in cement.

Its definitely a win win. Drive it for 10 years with Toyota reliability or sell it in a couple years and get much of your costs back.
If you park the BMW outside you have room for 1 more TRDP in the garage. lol

My salesman told me he sold an fj for 5k more than he paid for it and some collector had a shipping truck pick it up from across country and the guy is a collector who is putting it in storage for the next 20 years lol. Nice cement fj u have.

Yes exactly why i got one more im sick of taking beatings on depreciation. Only reason i got the bmw was cause it was my grandpas and it only has 12k miles on it lol. Otherwise i wouldn't buy one and i think im good for the long run with just 2 trd's lol.

That doesn't surprise me! They only made 2500 of the trail teams special edition in 2013 which only came in cement gray. I don't expect the value to drop a whole heck of a lot!

One BMW that is holding its value: the M2. Just got mine last November. Wierd to have 2 vehicles that are equally rare (a few thousand in the US each year for both TRDP and M2) but neither cost too much (45k & 55k). Best fleet I've ever owned. And my woman loves both of them. Lucky me.
They will hold their value just like every 4runner does. People are paying $5-7K or more for a PRO. The Trail Edition is the same thing as a PRO without the barely upgraded suspension and fancy paint. Buy a TE and use the savings on upgrades and you will have a better vehicle than a stock PRO for less money. Heck most the people that paid for the suspension on the PRO end up replacing it anyways.
Don't get me wrong, I like the PRO, I like how it looks. But I can recreate that look for way cheaper than $7K. The PRO is basically an appearance package that comes with a premium price. IMO :flipoff: Toyota dropped the ball on the PRO. It should have a supercharger, front and rear lockers, winch, long travel, etc...now that would be worthy of the name TRD PRO!
Yes Toyota could really up their game with the Pro. I guess Jeep does deserve some love for the Rubicon.
With the way things are looking in the near future with the whole self driving car thing I guess auto companies are in a tough spot. Toyota has to reward its shareholders and the future of the auto industry is going to be interesting.
I agree the TRDP is over priced but if you look at whats available in the 4runner category even at MSRP its still not a terrible purchase.
The TRDP could be an amazing vehicle if Japan wanted to truly commit the Pro series in that direction.
Hopefully the new Ford Bronco will kick ass and help motivate Toyota to up their game with the TRDP series of vehicles.

Finally got a chance to pick mine up today after it sitting for 2 weeks at the dealership. Hopefully I don't see another one in my area because I had to drive 4 hours to get mine.
First impressions coming from a '12 wrangler unlimited... This is a real truck and not some poor quality shit box

Not really. You find me an SR5 or TEP that sells for the same value you bought it after 3 years. I'll wait.
And there is no way a PRO is going to sell for what you bought it for either since you most likely over paid. I understand you might be butt hurt from my opinions but let's be realistic here, the PRO is nothing special. It's a TE with fancy paint, black rims, trd pro badges, barely upgraded suspension, and a different grill...again I like the PRO but I also like to be smart with my money...which is an oxymoron because buying a $35000 TE is really not smart with money either. But I love my baby and it's the same truck as a PRO that was $7K cheaper.
Let's go one further...If I wanted to clone a PRO I can change the grill on mine to a PRO grill for $400. Then change to the PRO rims for $1000. Then go out and get a full OME BP-51 or Kings all around for what??? $3500? So all we are missing is the fancy paint but we have a much better truck than a stock PRO and am still over $2K to the good if we only paid MSRP for the PRO and not more.
If I didn't care about cloning the PRO that is even more money saved for trips and other upgrades....just saying.

No one is butthurt here, just trying to put a plug in your spewage of ignorance :mad2: . You can do your own research of the market like the many of us here who have bought them, but that is the fact of the market.
Heck, there's a dealer 40mi from me that is taking Trail Premiums, throwing the TRD Pro bumper + wheels and asking for 12k mark up. There's dealers in California charging 5k over MSRP. Fact is, they are doing this because there's people BUYING them out there for this cost.

Check the used prices of TRD Pros on sites like Edmunds or Carmax.com or Craigslist. So, I'm still waiting for you to cite an example of an SR5 or TEP that is still worth that much used after 3 years. :whip2:
