I was told that they take them off while shipping them and like you said, install them once it is at the dealer.
Small update in my search. I have a chance to get a TRD PRO in red from a dealer in Cali at MSRP. I was set on cement grey but the red is kind of growing on me. I am just wondering if you guys think the red is more desirable, the Toyota website shows that the 4runner in TRDPRO trim are no longer available in red?
My dilemma is do I buy red now at MSRP or risk the chance of not finding a grey at MSRP later?
Based on this year and the posts made, the grey has been the most desired. It is unique color and only available on the pro. But if you like the red better, than go for it. I wouldn't buy something because others desire it. It's what your desire.Small update in my search. I have a chance to get a TRD PRO in red from a dealer in Cali at MSRP. Personally if i was going to just get red or white I feel like the TRD Pro looses alot of its draw. Part of the reason IMO for the PRO is the exclusive color because other wise its not really worth the premium for the pro. I mean the TRD pro coils are decent but limited, tires are not really great, exterior changes can be done for much cheaper.
Honestly, I wont use the PRO for what its can do very often for me its the cement that is the draw along with the resale value. Crappy things to say? you betcha Ive had a 4runner bug for a while and Im at a point in my life were I want to give SUV life a shot and as a Toyota fan the 4runner is the best option as far as looks are concerned.
Also, just got notice from the dealer that mine will be here between 05-02 and 05-04-17
Texted my salesman on a quick checkup to see when in June it'll be here since I'm getting antsy.. He said he's not sure and that it just says "June." But I could move up if people cancel their orders. Assuming it's for the region rather than the dealership since I'm the only one with a cement 4Runner order
On the other hand, they just got a cement Tundra TRD Pro and was entertaining the idea of it. They wanted 51k with a bunch of options and accessories that I didn't care for or want. I said I'd take it if it was closer to the base/no options of 47-48k MSRP
