I think there's a little bit of misunderstanding. The door guards that members are referring to are clear vinyl protection applied to the edges of the doors, part of the Toyota vehicle protection plan that most Pros seem to come with (mine did on hood, doors, mirror, etc.) What I'm gathering from the picture you posted, is that the dealer told you they come with actual door guards, like the ones installed on that 4runner midway up the door. Is this correct?

I've never seen those on the recent models; not even sure it is an option. Give the dealer a call and clarify. They may be referring to the clear vinyl applications.

I believe the door edge guards are the painted plastic guards that are actually on the edge of the doors. Not the clear 3M film you are referring to.
TexasTJ has it correct.

finally got mine after putting my name on a waitlist in october. i forgot i had done that until they called me in march and asked if i still wanted one came in yesterday after waiting for 6 weeks

Nice!

I miss steelhead fishing around the area where you live. Gotta get up there soon.

Mine are metal, not plastic. Only on the front doors, color matched and starting from top down to bottom (or vice versa depending on your point of view)

You may be right in that they are metal vs plastic, the point of my post was that they are not the clear 3M film protection.

Looks good! How's the ride compared to stock?

The ride is a little stiffer, but not too bad with the adjustable coilovers. I really want to get it level but don't have the tools to do it myself. Have to bring the front up an inch.

Also, figured out where the rub was coming from. It was a slight rub on the front mud flaps so I took them off. No rub now but might have adjust further after testing on the trails.

After driving my truck for the weekend a friend is ready to sell his STi and buy a Cement TRD PRO. The only one I could find is at Koons but they want $55,200. Anyone know of incoming or current inventory trucks?

I had a 16 STI a few cars ago. I can say that is one of the two cars I actually miss. Got the dumb idea to trade the STI on a wrangler...

Ha, I traded my mustang saleen in for a wrangler and felt the same as you. It was a what the fu$k was I smoking moment

Yea I had my STI for four months and put 4k miles on it before I got my dumb idea. I spent a little over 3 months waiting for it to be built and shipped over too. One day I will have another. You get rid of the wrangler? I had mine for about 5 months and was over it.

I had a 13 wrx which I loved, traded it for a 15 Sti that I absolutely hated, after 2 months traded that for a 2 door Wrangler and couldn't be happier. On a side note I traded my 14 trail premium for a 16 Rubicon hard rock unlimited and after a year of not loving that so much traded for the TRD Pro as I missed the toyota. There is a huge difference in the 2 door and 4 door wranglers. The 2 door is awesome and has soul, the 4 door not so much. So I'm glad I traded my Sti for our 2 door.

Joined last week and have a couple posts recounting my interactions with dealership and on a whim called around and found exactly what I had preciously ordered in freaking rainbow city Alabama of all places. Drove down and bought the thing. Pretty stoked!!!

Except running boards...

Traded in my 8 month old 2017 WRX for my 4R! Love both vehicles but definitely happy with the decision! 4R for life!

They did the clear vinyl on the front end.

They actually wanted to add the ugly door guards I posted a pic of. Even though they would be color matched I still didn't like them so I said no.
