Anyone else have a 9JUN port date?
Finally had a chance to install my Xenon Depot Extreme HID kit with Phillips bulbs a few weeks ago and last night was the first time I have used the lights for more than 30 minutes.
I don't know what others experiences are, but on a 3 hour drive I must have had at least 6 or 7 cars flash their high beams at me, these lights are super bright and were easily lighting up the road 75 yards or so ahead of me.
I love the fact that they provide so much extra light when driving, but I guess I'm a bit concerned by their legality and how many people seemed to think I was just driving with my high beams on. Anyone know if these kits are legal, or does it just vary by state, etc.?

i don't know anything about the kit you're running but if it's getting you flashed by other drivers that frequently then it's a problem you need to deal with.
figure out what's what with that kit and remedy accordingly and/or adjust your lights down so the cutoff is markedly lower (assuming your kit hasn't introduced glare that can't be corrected).

The short answer is no, they aren't legal. If the vehicle came with hid's then they were calibrated for them and hid's obviously are legal in them, otherwise it is illegal to upgrade to them as the reflectors weren't designed for them. As stated above, you might be able to adjust the aim of the light lower and get away with it and please do. If you are blinding oncoming drivers it's a safety hazard.

I know it may be too late, but ecided to finally pull the trigger and try to find a cement TRD Pro.
Contacted a few dealers around Austin/Cedar Park/Round Rock. Charles Maund left me a message saying that all the cements they see headed for TX are sold...but thinks they may be able to get one. Waiting to hear back from the two other dealers I submitted an inquiry on line to.

You definitely need to adjust the lights. Takes 5 minutes with a Philips head screwdriver, same thing happened to me. After I adjusted them, perfect! No flashes since and the visibility is 100% better than stock (non-scientific measurement).

my passenger side light came from factory adjusted WAY too high, lowered it and it was great
I think this is the problem; it takes so long to process in port there is a huge backlog. As posted above, Pro arrived in port late March and did not arrive to the dealer until 2-3 months later. Curious why it takes so darn long!

Does it really take 2 or 3 months once it arrives at the port?? Anyone really know?? I sold my quicksand and ordered a cement that arrived in port on 5-30.

Wondering about the ETA as well. Mines supposed to be at the Houston port sometime next week so idk if the backlog is affected there. Salesman said it should arrive quickly (assuming it'll be a week or 2 after that). He's gotten several pros before so I'm sure he knows what he's talking about. Read a month ago in this thread that someone said it takes around 11 days from the port to arrive here in Arkansas

Mine arrived in port on 3 May and was at my CO dealership on 31 May. I had a good saleperson that kept us up-to-date on it's progress.
Contact Tegeler Toyota - Buck Williams in Brenham. I had one on order there that I backed out on.

More than likely your lights are too bright, and they aren't legal, but most police officers aren't going to notice as new cars come with LED's and everything seems to look that bright now. Simple adjustment should fix everything.
With that said you are in Northern Virginia, I lived there for awhile and drivers there are pretty anal and shouldn't be driving anyways. I say blind them :laugh:
Depending on where you were driving it could be too bright (highway), but if backroads it could just be people not used to new lights or who are sensitive to them. My wife has astigmatism in her eyes and it throws the light all over which blinds her.
My CR-V came with your typical halogen bulbs, nothing special, and on the pitch black roads of Yosemite I'd get high beamed all the time. Nothing out of alignment or illegal with my lights.
One thing to remember too is you sit higher than most people, so even legal lights are probably going to blind more than stock ones because your headlights are eye level with them, and there's nothing you can do about that.

9 1/2 weeks??? That's ridiculous, mine arrived at port on 6/3 and scheduled to arrive next weekend. I hope....
Yeah I was a little sketched thinking something must've happened during delivery. I even had another Toyota dealerships general manager check the status to see what the holdup was. Everything checked out fine and it was an awesome 260 mile drive home!
Hopefully you won't have to wait that long for yours!
