4runner TRD Pro

I put a $500 refundable deposit down today for a Barcelona Red TRD Pro:frog:

Not sure if I am going to follow through yet. Should I sell my BMW M235i for the TRD?! Ahhh so many decisions!

It can definitely be difficult going from the sporty car market to off road. I went from S2000 and tracking my FRS (to name a few) to a 4Runner TE. I went through withdrawals at first, but scenic drives both on/off road, trips to the lake, and dunes with the family have been very rewarding experiences. You may consider picking up a beater if you crave speed again. Good luck!

I think it depends on what you plan on using it for. My last few cars were a modified Mitsubishi Evo 8, Audi S4, a modified turbo Volvo wagon and a 1971 Chevelle.

If I'm honest, I do miss hitting the gas and having something really fast, but I'm also at a point in my life where I'm not really sure that I need that. The 4Runner for me is awesome for my family, road trips and I've also never modified anything like it, so its kind of fun doing completely different stuff than the usual power mods.

My future plans do include buying a sporty car as a weekend car, but I may change my mind and sell the 4Runner in a few years. The resale value should be awesome and I can always go back to something more sporty if I want.

Given Toyota will only be running 1500 or so of this trim package (so far as I can tell so far) I have to assume that they have completed production for the year and I better start scrambling to scoop up a '17 while they are arriving at dealerships. That said, I started haunting cars.com and then spoke to a dealer this morning about 200 miles from home who listed one last night, but was already sold this morning before i called but has 2 whites coming in, on the boat but not in port yet, due to arrive mid July that are not "promised" yet to anyone and she is already working to initiate a sale with me...but I am kinda in limbo with the runaround I am getting at my local dealership.

If you found a dealer that has some coming in that aren't spoken for, I'd do it.

I originally started looking for a 2017 Off Road Premium in Red, but none of my local dealers had them. The one I got comfortable with told me nobody would trade them for one because they didn't have one to give in return. I mentioned the request one to be built, and was told it'd take a month to get a yes or no from Toyota, and then I would have an additional 3 month wait if it were approved to be buit.

With the amount I was putting down, and our other vehicle dying, I started looking elsewhere. I found a Red one 211 miles away from me that just so happened to be a TRD Pro that wasn't spoken for. They were asking for 55 which I wasn't going to do, but I knocked them down to 49 OTD with some free stuff.

After going around with my local dealer I decided to pay the extra money to get the vehicle I originally wanted, but thought I would never be able to find, not to mention in the color I wanted.

So, if they have one that isn't spoken for, and you want it. I say put that deposit down and get it.

2018 color

I have a buddy that works at Toyota and he said that the color for next year will be the blue color that the FJ Cruiser had in 2014, it's like a matte blue kind of. His dealership has the pamphlet of next years model/color and will try to send me a picture. I will upload it as soon as I can!

Not a fan. If I can't secure a Cement then I will move on to the 18 super white I guess. Don't want the sunroof, so the 17 may be a make or break deal.

I had a 2008 4Runner before this M235i, and I miss it dearly. I love cars, huge car enthusiast, love driving cars, and love being in something fast. But there is just so much appeal to 4Runners and I never thought I'd miss my first one this much! It sounds like I've already made the decision...

Also, this community is way more fun to be apart of than the 2 Series Forums :biggrin1:

How confident are people that the '18 will have a sunroof like the Canada models? If so.. Anyone want to buy a Cement?

Another member here already posted a thread stating the color was going to be cavalry blue. It looks nice but I think heritage blue might be even nicer!

I want a Cement! I just put down a deposit today for a Barcelona Red, but Cement is my first choice. Send me a PM with more information (miles, condition, etc)

And the countdown begins...

Thank you to those who replied... It is 1930 EST and I just got off the phone with my new favorite dealer from the Cincinnati Area who has my name now attached to a Super White that is currently floating its way to its new home! They have my deposit and I have the VIN, at least the temp VIN as the last 8 will change after they install the TRDP trim at port. Estimated port date is 7/12 (which one she did not know) and based on the TRDP they just sold that arrived in port on 5/30 and did not make it to the dealership until 6/17, they expect me to take delivery on or about 7/30/17. Since I am taking an as built, the remote starter, mud mats and that silly exhaust tip were already included in the package accessories. Good to her word, MSRP if the selling price, nothing more, nothing less.

I am one happy boy right now!

(To the best of my knowledge there is still one more Super White on the same boat that is not allocated, Joseph Toyota of Cincinnati, Cheryl Nix is who I dealt with)

Congrats! I called them earlier today as well inquiring about a Cement Pro. They said they had a super white coming, but really want the Cement. I bought my first Tacoma there back in 08. Good people to work with.

For what it's worth, I went from a BMW M3 and an F250 to my 4runner. Yes, I definitely miss the sheer power and speed of the bimmer. That being said, my Pro is awesome and I don't regret the decision at all. Yes, it lacks some power but I drove over Ike and Vail passes (10,000ft) a few weeks ago and it did fine. The off road capability and reliability is second-to-none. The looks of the rig are freaking amazing and I get compliments almost daily. In short, do it!
