Not sure if you care at all, but won't the rear AOR add a decent amount of weight? i.e. kill more MPG?

Yes you are correct. But again if this wreck happened with the bumper I would have had no damage really. Not to mention it will match my addicted front plate bumper. And it kind of sucks having your stock bumper hang up when rock crawling. I wont mind a little extra weight if it saves me from getting damage and hanging up when on the trail.

This is an offroad vehicle. Gas mileage is what it is.

Yes but by design. Has been for the last 60k miles. She got maybe 17mpg combined when I first got her. 16mpg that I get now is not bad for the mods I have. The rear tube bumper is not a plate design and is not that heavy. Once you add the weight of the bumper shell, tire carrier and tow hitch, the tube design is not that much more heavy than the stock bumper.

Im about to purchase a new tacoma here tax time and it will have the same gas mileage stock. In the city they only get 16-17mpg also.

Did you get a quote from a dealer? When I was rear ended in my previous 3rd gen they quoted $800 just for the bumper and tow hitch, not including install. Need less to say I "never got around to fixing it".

So I was about to order up the bumper but after thinking long and hard I decided to keep the damage. I ordered up a new SuperWinch Tiger 9500lb rated. I thought it would get more use than a bumper. LOL. Been meaning to get a winch ever since the bumper install.

Was able to find the winch for $315 shipped online. Not a bad deal for a winch that has very good reviews everywhere you look especially for the price. Cant beat it.

Now with the leftover money thinking of some nice leather custom fit seat covers. Been tired of the beat up seats.
