hey man im drake new to the forum and a new 4runner owner. I like the rear L.E.D's where did u get them? id like to steal that idea from you!! i have limo tint all the way around so i need some of these! Ps this is my first post/reply ha so not sure what im doing

Welcome to the forum! I got them on Blitzpro.com, but Toyteclifts.com sells the same ones.
 
I added some more LED lights. I put the new ones in that little cubby thing. It doesn't look that great in the picture, but it lights up the center area very nicely without being too bright.



 
PLASTI-DIP

Got some free time and bought some Plasti-dip Smoke (I know right?) and plasti-dip glossifier. My intentions were to smoke out my tailights, but I kinda wondered what this stuff would look like on chrome. So I went to the only chrome on my car and smoked that sh*t!
It actually matches my paint which is the awesome part. I wasn't sure if I liked it or not at first, but now I do. I'm going to respray it cause it's kinda spotty. But what do you guys think?!

Still not sure how I feel about it. I think once I find a brush guard and maybe a bug shield for the front, it'll balance out the look of everything.

Did you use Plasti-dip for this? Or the vinyl they sell? If you plasti-dipped, I recommend doing a larger section. If you follow the lines in the hood, I think it looks better...like it was meant for it. And a bug shield may help too...

It's vinyl. Yeah I know what you mean and I agree with you, but I kind of like this way a tiny bit more. Who know's maybe I'll change my mind later. But yours looks super dope. I was trying to think of a way to do an outline like that but thought it'd be too much trouble.
 
How many tools does it take to change a fog light bulb in a 4Runner?
You would think two, a ratchet and a screwdriver.... but not if your 4Runner is originally from snowy rust-filled Michigan!!!! You need much more! By much more I mean a drill and and extra bolt, but still, a job that was supposed to take 10 min will now expand over two, maybe three days. (I have a busy schedule) Gotta love that rust!

edit: the bolt snapped btw, if no one got that

I've seen you haha. Just a couple times, I was working so I couldn't flag you down. I'm mainly in the downtown area, I work part time as a valet for some restaurants, so my car is constantly parked in parking garages haha.
 
So did you end up leaving them on the first perch? Looks like there's a little bit of rake but not much? Still happy with the set up overall after a few miles on it?

Truck looks great!!

I did my Satoshi grille mod about a month after I got my car, so around mid-May. I know a lot of people use bondo, fiberglass, etc for filling in the holes after you cut the middle part of the grille, but I left a little part of it for mounting points.

Everything I needed to build it:
-1997 T4R Grille. I found it at a junkyard. I was very lucky it was in great shape.
-The metal mesh material was just rain gutter material I found at ACE Hardware.
-Rustoleum Satin Black paint. (I had some Por-15 left over from painting my frame, so I used that for an undercoat. It made the metal mesh grille stronger and impossible to chip.)
-Self locking screws.
-Masking tape.
-Little hand saw.

Thanks! Yeah, I left it on the first perch, I didn't want to put too much strain on the front components so I kept the lift minimal, and I do like a little bit of rake too. The back has settled since I've put it on, so the rake isn't as severe as it looks on page 5. Here's what it looks like now:

Overall I am very happy with this lift. It gives a good comfortable ride.
