If I have to. My LC80 wheels have 4.5" backspacing, they might stuff under the fenders. I may have to add 1" spacers

Adding 1"+ spacers could make the wheels an even more difficult fit.
The biggest issue I had with 285s and a spacer was the rubbing on my pinch welds and on fender wall where the flares are.
In both cases having a spacer makes the rubbing worse not better.
The spacer will help you to clear the UCA but that may not be a problem since you have aftermarket UCAs.

Interesting. I've heard on this forum and Tacomaworld that 3.5" BS is the perfect amount for 35's. My LC80 wheels with a 1" spacer would equal 3.5" BS. I hate spacers though, so I'll see what happens. I plan on cutting anything that stands in my way.

Have you clearanced your fenders? I had a cut an inch of mine because I stuffed the tire into them enough on golden crack to bend the whole fender. And that's with 33s on 4" bs wheels.

I've cut an inch off on the corner next to the pinch weld. I'll probably pull the coilovers out and cycle everything to see. I need to take out my wiper reservoir and relocate the 4WD vacuum tank.

That was my experience with 285s / 33s. I assume the problem will be the same or worse with 34s.
I have the 5-stars not the LC wheels.
I was quite shocked when I removed my spacers and the rubbing on my pinch welds was fixed but that was the case.

I have the Lx450's that I'm pretty sure have 4.5" backspacing. I have really flattened the pinched weld and surrounding area and cut the lower inner fender up a bit. With the 285/75 coopers I rub the frame at full drivers lock. Clears everywhere else through all range of motion. With the 295 hankooks I had I rubbed frame bad, rubbed windshield washer fluid reservoir and canister on the other side. With 1.25" spacers, lx450s and the 295s it didn't rub the canister but really rubbed the pinch weld area and wiper fluid. It was going to require body lift or firewall chop for me, were you planning to do either of those? I might have missed it. Going to be sweet

The ideal backspacing with 35's is 3.5", especially with the MTR's that are a little wider than other brands. I never had an issue with the canister on the driver side, but the wiper fluid tank will have to go. Even at 3.5" your going to rub the frame a little at full lock, but it's not too bad.

I'll do a firewall chop if need be. That doesn't worry me all that much. Thanks for the info.
Sounds like SCS Wheels are in my future then haha. I rub the canister now with 255/85's. I don't quite know where I'm going to move it. The wiper fluid is already gone. I'm currently making a PVC replacement. I also rub the frame now, just barely.
Basically I've already pulled the trigger on the 35's, they're what I've always wanted, and I'm going to do anything I have to to make them fit haha

Like you said earlier, you can run your LC wheels but your probably going to need that one inch spacer. Just make sure that if your going to run the spacers you clearance with them on.

Thanks Jeremiah! I have spacers on hand if I need them.
In other news, the Vacuum canister has been relocated!
I moved it behind the bumper under the headlight and grill, you really can't notice it.

I'll post some pics when it's done. I imagine it's the same. It's just two little motors that can be retrofitted on to any tank.
Today I replaced my front brake lines, bled the brakes, and the clutch. I must say the brakes are much firmer now. I can actually tell a difference. Worked on the washer reservoir more, letting it dry over night. Also painted my 5th FJ80 Wheel, so now I'm all set for the tires to arrive, hopefully this week.

Are those stock calipers? SS lines from Wheelers? Looks nice. I need some new front lines myself.

Yes stock calipers sadly. I highly recommend those lines from Wheelers, they're really nice. Freshman year is over luckily, now I can relax for a little bit.
