And on that note, I think the 4.7L V8 is completely overlooked by TRD. I was window shopping on the TRD site a while back and it seems like they don't make much for the 4.7L V8.

Market is too small. They used to make one for non-vvt-i engines (pre 2005 year)

Yeah, TRD discontinued the V8 supercharger kit with the release of VVTI on the 4.7. I was sure to grab one while they were availible though. The kit adds 125 Hp and 100 ft lbs of torque to the V8's output. That makes my 4Runner a lot more fun to drive and helps while towing trailers. I plan on bringing it to the dragstrip to see what kind of #'s it will pull.

now it makes me curious of the capability of hanging up with a turbo cayenne. i know that is a totally different car/motor but my thought is after the V8 is sc'ed, with that kind of power it should be similar? i'm just trying to see the scenario of stop light to stop light, <100 mph, cuz i know for sure the cayenne will have a fast top end.

Even with around 350hp and 430ft/lb of torque it doesnt compare with the 505hp and 500ft/lb of torque the twin turbo charged cayanne puts out.

it does 60mph in 4.9 and has a top speed of 170mph

EDIT: It would certainly blow the cayanne s out of the water and make the cayanne turbo owner feel real bad

Cool video although I think the STI let off shortly after they started running. There is no way that STI would be lagging that far behind, plus the STI the video was taken from started way late and caught up.
A supercharged runner would be pretty damn sweet. Before getting the runner and before gas hit an all time high I was set on getting the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee but with todays fuel prices I could not justify the damn thing.

as i've said a few times on here... i too, was ready to buy one. the saving grace (on my wallet and sanity) was the GC SRT-8 forum. take a look at all the problems these things have, some not even 2 weeks from the dealership. it'll blow your mind.

Are you serious. STI are slow as hell.

I want a SC for mine bad. I have been searching for one but can't find anything .

STIs are slow? I didn't know low 13s in stock trim was slow.

Plus a 155+mph top end isn't too bad either.

Either way there's no basic modded SC'd Runner would even come close to touching one.

All depends on what your idea of fast is. My TA would run 13's in the 1/4 mile stock before I added over 100 RWHP.

I would love to have a little HP out my 4runner. Not saying I would race sports cars with it. Just always nice to have little extra HP.
