4th Gen Actuator, Help!

Read several forums on here and my issue has been narrowed down to the actuator motor behind the glove box. My AC only blows cold air and of all the settings, only blows air out of the head-level fan. Defrost, feet, feet/head, feet/defrost, it still only blows out of the head-level.

Took apart the glove box, and located the vibration/buzzing noise coming from the actuator (which is in an incredibly inconvenient location). I wrote the part number down, but can't seem to find a place to buy that specific part, any help is appreciated!

Here's the Toyota part numbers (different than the Denso part numbers) for all the servos, you can find them for less at other sources and or eBay, approx. around $100

You maybe able to find them used from a savage yard and save much much more, or go with an aftermarket part.

Just replaced both of mine with Ebay items - total of about $200. They work great. Read all the threads on how to replace them, because there is a trick to getting to two of the screws that are terrible. I did both of mine in about 90 minutes.

Thank you sir, I appreciate it! Not dead set on Denso, just heard to keep the Japanese parts for Toyotas but I'm open for anything at this point.

Any tips or tricks? I took apart the glove box and removed the HVAC motor. I can't seem to find an easy way to locate the mount and remove the screws, think I counted 4-5 in total but are a pain to access.

And open the recirc door to the up position, drill a hole in the casing from the inside towards those bastard screws. Use a screwdriver through the hole to remove/replace those screws. Gorilla tape to seal the hole.

Drilling that hole is key. If you think about it, for both servos you're only removing/replacing 8 screws. If not for the cramped location it's a 5 minute job. It's the lack of access to several of those screws, and if you read through the various threads, there are guys who spend hours dealing with them. As suggested by someone on here, drill that hole and the job will be a cake walk. If I were to do it again, I have no doubt it could be done in less than an hour for both servos.

Thank you all for this information.

I have been working taking things apart for 3 days trying to get that servo out.

Was trying the blower box removal but couldn't get that one hook to release to allow the box to come out so I got frustrated and drilled a hole. Then had to drive to town to buy a screw driver long enough to reach that screw.

When my part arrives now I have to stand on my head again to get that screw back in. I'm getting too old for this....
