loyd,
that looks really good! How did you mount the mesh in the back and tell us where to buy that stuff.
I like the mesh in the scoop too, that's really nice.
Good job. Where did you get the bug shield?! I guess you are in Canada?

.

yes the guard is from canada...theres a few posts already discussing that one....but you can get them. as for the mesh, i mounted it with thin black zip ties, to the plastic in the grill.....it sits in there tight and wont budge. there is a similar mesh at home depot for the rain gutters - same style anyways...this stuff is chromed or chrome painted, for auto applications. i bought it at an auto parts store down here - canadian tire. it comes in a 4 ft x 1 ft sheet, and you use tin snips to cut a piece to fit each grill - upper/lower. i think i needed 2, and had lots left...it was 50 bucks canadian - rip off but worth it i guess. here is a sight with a few close up shots...and order info....

Okay,

So I take that back. I think it looks good the way that Loyd did it. The very first pic would look good if the bumper was black. Sorry about that.

I just went to Home Depot today and picked up some Gutter Guards and cut them to fit like loyd did. I cost about $5.
I will take some photos this weekend.

.

I know this is an old thread but I'm thinking of doing this too, and was wondering how the stuff from Home Depot held up? Do you have any pics?

Chris.

Just wanted to let you know I bought the stuff from Home Depot too, and installed it tonight.

One thing I did since this wasn't quite as shiny as the stuff bought in the auto stores. I bought some of that chrome spray paint and coated the gutter gaurds with it.

It really helps it shine a little more.

Here are some pics, sorry they aren't that great. It was starting to get dark.

I think I will do something similar to my T4R SE.
The lower area by the license plate really needs
some protection. The A/C radiator is right behind there.

I was also thinking of putting something, haven't decided
what yet, between the bumper and the skid plate. When you
are on rocky roads, the rocks seem to get kicked up in that
area and damage the radiator or A/C radiator.

it sure does help keep the bugs out of there, that's for sure!!

just took a trip down to the ocean, and when I got back, I noticed all the bugs that were stuck on the new insert rather then stuck in the radiator.

If I could talk my wife into parking out in the driveway, I would have a couch and TV out there on her side. There is nothing like pulling into a clean garage.

I was at Canadian Tire last night. They don't have it and the guy told me that never had. Did you buy it from AutoParts Department or Home&Garden?

Anyone want to trade in their new condition Galactic Grey grill for my chrome one ? The Aura grill is pretty pricy, and I'm going monotone with my SR5 (dark all around...wheels, body, tint, etc).
