Do the bilsteins 5100's
Springs...you can keep stock or find fj springs if you aren't adding a big bumper.
Leave bilstens on factory setting for minimal additional lift...or notch up , your choice. I would be cautious and prob only go second from bottom.
Good luck.

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the 5100's. Seems to be a couple different options. Is this accurate? Do they make different models of the 5100s.?Adjustable, non adjustable, etc? Do I want the same for front and rear. I want to keep the option open for adding slightly more lift, coils, etc. in the future. Not looking for much lift if any with the 5100's. Maybe 1/2" at the most if possible with my current set up.
Have a question on the rear suspension. I currently have daystar 1.5" spacers and l am looking to replace the springs and dump the spacers. I am looking at the toytec super flex springs or the ome 895's. Both increase the rear height by 2 inches. I am looking to get a little more flex than what I have. The shocks I have are Rancho RS9000s. What I am wondering is if I replace my springs but keep my current shocks will I get more flex or do I need to replace both. The bilstiens and OME shocks I have looked at only have about a .5" more travel than the Ranchos I currently have. Will that .5" really make that big of a difference or will I be fine with what I have?
Looking to get a little advice if someone can help me out. I just acquired a set of 2013 FJ Springs/Shocks. I am looking to put them on my 07 4Runner V6 4x4. I saw the mods that have to be done to the shocks/rear body of the 4Runner and I am ok with that. My question is will I need to add a spacer to make it level? I saw some pics of someone with the FJ Springs/Shocks with a 2.5/1.5 daystar and it appears like it raised the front too much. I am wondering if maybe doing just a 1.5" spacer in the front and a 1" in the back would level it while giving it more lift. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
new to the board and just purchased a 2003 4runner sr5 sport and want to get a daystar budget boost lift installed...
I'm in chicago land area ( nw suburb of palatine)
anyone recommend any shops to do the work??

Hey guys! First off this thread is awesome so thanks to all the major contributors especially swamp rider. I have read thru most of the posts over the last week and have a good idea of the options. That being said most of the non coilover options reference ride quality in relation to stock. We bought a used sport edition a couple weeks ago and took it to the desert yesterday. It still has the original XREAS on there with 170k miles. The truck was bottoming out at low speeds with very little weight in the vehicle. Safe to say the XREAS is shot. So I have no real reference point for a "stock ride". We are looking for new suspension but I feel coil overs would be a waste of $$$. We have a 10 month old and have no intention of hardcore off-roading at higher speeds but do like to venture out to remote areas to camp. Also a lift wouldn't hurt . So long story short is the "stock ride quality" solid enough for handling all the bumps and rocks on these trails at around 20 mph? Thanks!
Yep, it's definitely shot. I would do Bilsteins on all 4 corners. These trucks ride great stock, and better than just about any other suv for a stock setup. Did you want to lift it too?
