Here's the pictures of the Eibach Pro Stage 1 Kit. I gained 2.5 inches up front and 1 inch in the rear. There is about 1 inch rake which is perfect. I also used a 10mm OME trim packer on the rear for drivers side lean. So far that side is still .5 inches higher because I've only had it on a couple of weeks. I'm thinking it will even out at some point when it fully settles.

Thanks for the pictures! A 1" rake sounds about perfect. I think my currently stock suspension has about a 2.5" rake so there is def room for improvement. What size tires are you running?

275/70/16, 31" BFG K02, D Rating 8 Ply. With this lift you should probably be able fit a 17" wheel with a 32" tire max. This was as large as I could go without getting new wheels.

Thanks - I was looking at either 265/70/17 or 255/75/17... both right around that 32" mark. Just to confirm, you didn't need to install UCAs or a diff drop since the lift was under that 3" mark, correct?

That's correct, no need for UCAs or a diff drop. This lift was designed to work with all the factory components.

Hey everyone - first post after I bought my second 4Runner last weekend. A 2008 Sport Edition V6 with only 80k on the clock.

I use to own a 3rd gen about 10 years ago so I've been slowly buy surely getting back into researching a suspension lift for it. I've got it narrowed down to the final 3 below but looking for some insight. The primary use of the truck will serve as a daily driver with some potentially light weekend off-roading ever now and than, nothing crazy. It will be mainly used as an on road, family hauler.

Below is my current list of suspension choices and I'd love to get some feedback from current T4R owners on which they would choose for my overall needs.

1. 3" Toytec/Bilstein setup - The most expensive option but it seems to be a favorite in the Toyota world.

2. Eibach Pro-Truck Kit Stage 1 - Less expensive option, reputable company, not quite as much lift.

3. 3"/2" spacer lift - The 'budget boost' would allow for the most cost effective option. I might even consider upgrading to OME 895 w/ Bilstein struts in the rear instead of spacers.

Those are the current options I am considering. I feel for the primary use of the truck option 3 makes the most sense but I wanted to see what others thought as well before I start ordering parts. Thanks in advance! Good to be back in a T4R!

Right now I'm leaning towards the Eibach kit for a few reasons. When I'm ready to buy I plan on buying from Wheelers, they have the cheapest price for pre-assembled kits I've seen.

The only hurdle I have right now is that I need to find a shop that can not only install the lift kit but also remove the XREAS system as well. I've had trouble finding a local shop to me (I live just outside DC), any places down there by you that you could possible recommend?

I have a friend who has a shop at Fort Myer (inside the military base) in Arlington. He says he does lifts. That is where I am planning to go whenever I am ready to buy the stuff. I dont know how good he is on that, but I know he has his shop for a while. I have another mechanic that is very good, in Springfield VA. He is good but I dont know if he does lifts. I can give you both phone number if you want to call them and find out. Let me know!

Cool, Arlington is only about 15 mins from me so that would be preferred lol.

Given the current state of everything with COVID I'm not even able to get my truck registered yet, it's just sitting in my garage so I have no immediate plans on doing anything to it just yet but I always like to plan ahead. If by chance your friend is able to remove the XREAS system I might have some business for him. I will def shoot you a PM whenever I am ready to move forward.

Just picked up a 2003 limited and was wondering what lift i should go with? im wanting to do a 3 inch lift with 33's with no plans to go offroading. This is my daily driver and just trying to make it look good. As far as a mall crawler set up what would be my best route to go as far as a lift? Sorry but this is all new to me and just trying to get some info from the guys that have been doing this a while

What’s ur budget like? There’s everything from spacers to Bilstein 5100’s variations and coilovers with remote reservoirs that add to the cool factor

What was the limiting factor that would require new wheels? UCA contact? I just put this lift on, and measuring around, that is my main concern. I've got limited wheels though, so I have another 5mm of backspacing, and less bulge on tires.

Debating sticking with my limited wheels, or getting a set of 17" FJ wheels (+15mm backspace instead of 25/30) on local Facebook for cheap.

Really like the Eibach Pro-Truck setup though. My friends keep telling me I need to go up a notch in the front though :becky:

I read somewhere someone managed to lift and level their 4th gen by simply installed 5100s on stock springs. How is this possible? Wouldn't you need springs in the front to lift it?

5100’s come with notches on the body and a snap ring that allows you to position the spring perch higher on the shock body allowing the stock springs to lift the front of the vehicle.

Ya it works just fine. I had this set up when I had my Tacoma and I wheeled with this set up and never had any issues. Good luck with your build!

I can help you out with a nice lift up to 3" and it will still ride great.
