5 best All Terrain Tires??? INPUT PLEASE?

TRD look!

Will black TRD 17 inch rims rims fit on nitto terra grappler g2s 265/70r17? Or what size tires would I need?

Also if I put these rim on those tires can I just install them on my 2016 4Runner SRS as is? Or would I need a lift?

I am trying to recreate the TRD look. Thanks!!
 
Imo. That is the standard sized tire on these 4runners. So yes. Even if a more aggressive tread A/T. Going that way myself.

I run Duratracs, as do about 75% of the guys who work here so we are kinda partial to them lol. Few of the guys have 40k plus miles on them but they are close to being replaced. They are heavy so im sure they do have a bit of mpg drop on them but not enough for me to care about. They are a pretty awesome tire. With that said we have seen a few that have had some high road force balance issues that you sometimes have to "spin" the tire on the rim and then retry it.
 
I bought a set of BFG KO2's a few months ago and love them. As fate would have it, I bought some towing mirrors from a guy on CL and he had the same tires on his Tacoma with a little over 30k miles on them and they looked practically new. I was super-surprised by that, but it reinforced my decision to spend the money on the KO2's. Good luck with your decision. It's a daunting one.
 
I have to say my new General Grabber At2s are one soft and quite ride for a more aggressive all terrain!

My GF just bought a set of Cooper AT/P 265 60 18 for her '08 Limited V8. Discount tires said that the AT3s were slowly being phased out so the volume is low and they'd have to order them vs having the AT/P in stock. We'll see how they do long term.

I'm kind of intrigued about the Nitto TG G2 tires as I have the Nitto TG (non G2) on my Landcruiser. I LOVE them and on my second set but they do humm on the hwy which the GF didn't want to deal with. I wonder if the G2 reduce the humming somewhat.

I read mixed reviews about G2 generally saying the original Terra Grapps are better than G2 as per experience.
 
Picking these up in the morning. 33 12.50 15 Goodyear SFT 105. I've never heard or seen them before. Does anyone have any input or experience with them? Looks like a damn lawn mower tire but way too good a deal to pass up.

Based on the research I did... I am pretty excited to try a set of BFG KO2 tires.

Being a cheap bastard I am still waiting for my street tires to wear down.

I got some pretty good road tires, but I haven't been able to kill them yet driving over all sorts of nasty off-road.

That's a tractor tire.....i would NOT run that on the street at highway speeds.

Got the original BFG KOs on mine and I love them. Just changed out one of my original KOs for the KO2 today due to having a nail puncture it and America's Tire was unable to fix it. Gotta say that I'm digging the updated design, which isn't too drastic but still gives it a more beefier look compared to the originals. Can't go wrong w/ the BFGs.
 
I got Hankooks on right now but the Firestone wilderness AT are real good also

Surprised that more people don't chime in with toyo AT2. I've run general AT2s and hankook ATs and the toyos are awesome. Great traction off-road and very durable. 30k miles on them and the tread is still at 70%
 
I have to admit, this thread is great but a little overwhelming for me. I have been looking to replace my stock tires since I bought my 16T4R 2 weeks and 700 miles ago. Just know I want something that is more aggressive and what not. It looks like whichever tire I choose the best bet is to go to Discount Tire, glad to know there are a few close by me.

I personally have ran many BFG's AT KO's . The have now upgraded to KO 2's but other than tread design on the outside ribs I don't know if much else has changed. I have NOT tried KO2's but am deciding what to put on my 16 TE. The thing I like about BFG is they are a damn tough tire even in a C rated but they tend to kick up stones. I don't know if thats changed with the new design or not. I also cannot get any type of confirmation if the compound on the KO2's has been improved on. Personally I think it needed improving a little.

It will either be BFG KO2's or Duratrac as I am looking for tires now too. My son has been running Duratrac in the size you want for a couple of years on his 4th gen BUT he has a 3" lift with aftermarket rims also but has not had any tire issues.
 
I had a set of the old BFG KOs. They were great tires and they lasted a very long time. Of Course, I did rotate them regularly. Plus I think the look of the new tread the the KO2s look awesome.
 
Im going with the new Nitto Ridge graplers a step above AT. Ive had cupping issues with BFGs in the past never a issue with Nittos , the Nitto MT sounded like a jet taking off, and the Nitto Dunes are great but the reviews on this are great for on / off comfort and noise.
