Hmmmm...what a cluster it is trying to decide on this. Toytec said I wouldn’t need UCA’s, and they aren’t really in the budget but I’d hate to get this all together and find out I do.

Hey man from all the research I've done anything 2"-2.5" inches it's a safe bet to get new UCA's to help with the angle.

Can anyone advise if there is a minimum amount of lift where an aftermarket upper control arm could be used? For example with a one inch lift you would not need one but if it was installed could the 4Runner be aligned properly?

Anything over 2.5 it is recommended.

If you don't plan on wheeling hard...probably just a spacer lift.

Good question. I am thinking any amount of lift as UCAs just adjust how much caster you can get. But I’m not an expert on that. Might leave it to one of the more experienced guys on here.

I just installed 5100s at 2.5" and icon rear 2" springs, firestone told me they could only get my alignment close without new UCAs...seems to drive perfectly though soooo...

Has anyone used the Revtek 1.5" front only level with xreas? Or have another suggestion for a 1.5" front level? I want to use one that compresses the spring, not a top mount spacer. I'm not changing height to use larger tires, just want less rake. The only shop near me that will mess with xreas will only use a Toytec 3x1 leveling kit. They told me it doesn't work with xreas, I showed him the Revtek installation directions which show how to install with xreas. He again said it won't work. I just moved to NW Arkansas, so I may be missing shops that'll do it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes it will, Toyota dealerships in our area do them so do good shops. In our area there is Les Schwab tires, brakes and shocks who did mine. Basically they compressed the springs in place without disconnecting the Xreas lines on shocks.

I have stock UCAs with ~2.5” lift on front and back. My local mechanic shop was able to get alignment within oem specs. I find it depends on the overall suspension setup and how experienced the alignment tech is working with lifted trucks. Best of luck!

I'm also looking for a 3" lift for a weekend warrior type rig. I've been doing some research and I think the entry level lifts seem to be:

bilstein 5100's for $1050
toytec boss for $1360
toytec ULK for $1310

The toytec ULK I think is easier to adjust once installed, vs the bilstein set up (that's why it's $300 more?). Not sure of the advantages of the boss setup vs the bilsteins, can anyone chime in? thx

My 5100’s were $287 bucks on special but normally they are 359ish. With Dobinson springs I’m at about 670

Does anyone what kind of spacer these are? It's used but he said it came off of a nice 4runner and they are steel but selling it at a great price. Said it's a 2.5/1 lift.

I am a fish out of water when it comes to this stuff and there are SO many options. Can someone please recommend a few options for this noobie?

You don't need a dedicated suspension lift kit and your 4runner is your daily driver if I am not mistaken?
So the Bilstein 6112/5160 is probably your best bet as the front height is adjustable and it has a lot of similarities with the stock trd pro suspension.

Yes it's my DD. Sorry in advance for my million questions haha...what's the height adjustment range on those? I assume this lift would be 1" higher of it's like the TRD Pro setup? Any recommendations on where to buy in Canada? Thanks!

had the 6112/5160 set up and now have icons in front. loved my 6112s and if thats all you know, you'll love them too. the icon valving is way smoother.

6112s will get you a little over 2.5 max in front on an otherwise stock setup. you will need UCAs and alignment with increased caster if you go up to 2.5
