To me the circumference of the wheel is a little smaller but it is much thicker which i like. Part of that though is the fact that I did a leather wrap which added a little to the thickness.

old steering wheel for sale
Hey guys so I ended up getting a different steering wheel. The one I got was the oem leather one with the dual steering wheel controls. The other one worked great but I just wanted to switch it up. I need to wire back in the cruise control but other than that everything works properly for the old wheel (the one used in this thread). If you are interested PM me for details. It will come with the steering wheel controls pre-wired for our 4th gens, the leather wrap already installed on the wheel, and the cruise control switch wired in to fully function. (It will be fully plug an play) The parts you would still need would be the two covers for the side which I can give part numbers of and the airbag

Hey thanks for looking, I'm asking 150. That includes the wheel with the stitched on leather wrap, the cruise control module, the steering wheel controls and custom wire harness made for our 4th gens. This will literally just plug in and work. nothing has to be done to it

Thanks! I got it on amazon for around 45-50. It slips on and then has to be stitched in place. It looks and feels oem

Soo [MENTION=210043]Johns06yota[/MENTION] I've been interested in this, since you first posted about it, and even now buying your "old" one off of you.... my concern is, if you wanted to upgrade to get the RH controls, I'm thinking "wouldn't I want them too?". However I'm trying to figure out what that D-pad and other controls on the RH side would operate... What are you planning on using them for? It looks like you have an AM HU, and I do as well (Pioneer AVH-2300NEX).
Also, the interior blackout job you did looks great! :hail: I'll probably tackle that this summer along with the LED upgrade, until then I'll just drool over pics of yours. I have a Natural White on Tan leather... I don't mind the Tan, actually I'm fond of it, but the blackout really helps keeping the rig look more modern.
EDIT: Also, the "New" one seems like it's not as thick compared to the "old" one... I'm assuming that's bc of the OEM leather vs the AM Leather wrap, is this the case? Would you also mind posting the Diameter of both wheels? As others have stated, it seems the 5th gens are smaller than the 4th gens, and I just want to see by how much. Seems like a small issue, but then again the steering wheel is something you use the most in a car, so the little things matter.

So my hope with the other controls was to see if any of the factory pinouts would control play pause functions and things like that in the radio since I do have an aftermarket kenwood unit. The issue I ran into is that none of the other empty pins on the clock spring did anything currently and I really didn't want to rip my dash back out to check the dip switches on I believe its a pac unit for steering wheel controls. They may work but I have no way of knowing at the moment. So my hope is that if I am unable to get that to work that I will eventually swap instrument clusters from a 2016 and forward tacoma to update the look and also gain those other controls (right now im just using them as extra volume controls) And yes the new one is a little thinner since its the oem leather but its not too big of a difference. The new one is similar to our 4th gen thickness wise. I honestly kind of liked the thicker feel of the other one, it had a better grip than the new one I just put in. I would send you the dimensions but I'm at college right now so I dont have my tape measure with me. In regard to size difference, I had put my 4th gen wheel and that wheel together when i was home and the 5th gen one was slightly smaller but not by much. After the amount of time I've had it, it didn't have any noticeable difference. I think the reason it seems smaller is due to the design of the handles. These are much larger than the 4th gen ones but they havent caused any issues for me

I have an android head unit , link below.
I can program any of the buttons on the steering wheel to do what every I want. It works of resistance when teh button is pressed and the head unit detects that resistance level which is unique to each button.
I think if you make sure all buttons are connected, it should allow you to program the all the buttons to do whatever you want.

How do you like that piano black wheel, quality-wise? I’ve been considering getting one of those for awhile now, or the other version they offer that looks like black/gray wood grain. Since my SR5 doesn’t have any steering wheel controls at all, I unfortunately can’t use these newer style wheels, mainly because I’d hate having non functional buttons.
