I know this is redundant, but I know someone posted a PDF of the instructions for how to install the remote start in a 2013 4R. I've searched around and just can't find it...can someone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,
SDS

Can't find my directions at this time, but I got them from the parts dept from where I purchased the remote start.(sent to me by email) They were very detailed instructions and made it an easy installation. A lot of trim parts have to be removed, but all in all not much to it.

Here's what I have for the datalink, 2012 SR5 (without smartkey). Hope that helps.................

I'm going to have the Toy service dept. do the computer work...I just need physical instructions on how to install the hardware.

Thanks,
SDS

Please excuse my ignorance on this issue but this looks like the factory remote start (my dealer told me it could only be done by the manufacture... :gun6:).

Is this the same system that turns off the truck when you open the door?
& I assume you will need the Toy service dept to program it in to your key but hardware can be installed to the truck without them. Is that correct?

No ignorance...The only thing that the dealer needs to do is program it so it works and works with your key/fob. You can install the hardware yourself. My dealership's service guys said the programming is a 1 hour job (cant believe it takes more than 15 minutes) and would cost me $90. He said it's $200 for them to do the while job including install of the hardware.

I tried uploading the pdf here just now but kept getting an error. However, if you want, you can PM me your email address and I can try to email it to you. It's ~5mb file.

Does this system still have the flaw of engine off when opening the door?

Flaw is a good word for it. Makes no sense to me why it was done this way when the industry standard is brake pedal engagement causes engine shut down. The entire point of remote start is that you are getting inside the vehicle eventually.

Has Antman or anyone else figured out a go-around for this yet? One can dream...

Has the range of the remote been improved? When I asked the dealer about the remote start, he told me to save my money because the range was too short...about 30ft.
