5th gen skid plates on a 4th gen

I'm not trying to hi jack this thread, but without starting a whole new one does anyone know if the '03 land cruiser front skid will fit will fit an '03 T4R?

I would be curious to know if anyone has tried modifying a 5th gen TRD pro Aluminum skid plate to fit a 4th gen.

The 2nd gen Tacoma skid plates don't even bolt up, pretty sure. I'd be surprised if the LC ones do.
ARB makes one for the 4th gen, why not buy that one?

The '03 LC one is $51. (I'm trying to get one for as cheap as possible.) The ARB for an '03 T4R is $435.
Toyota Prado 120 -150 - 4Runner - FJ Cruiser ARB Skid Plates (5421100)
Both are 4.7 v8 4x4 so I was hoping it would fit.

Well I guess I will be the Guinea Pig!
I believe there is some modification that I will need to do like longer bolts but I will be giving this a whirl this week. Please if any one here knows something please let me know.

I think all you're going to end up with is a destroyed 5th gen TRD skid plate. It's not even remotely close to the 4th gen plate.

It’s most likely not a direct bolt on, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work if he’s willing to fab up some different mount brackets or spacers. Probably not worth the trouble though when you can buy a nice RCI set or other that will just bolt right on with no drama. I think if I was able to get the TRD one for free, or very cheap I’d work with it though just as a fun project, but I’d never order a new one without knowing for sure I could make it work correctly. If it’s not very solidly mounted, it will be useless in actual function, just be for aesthetic purposes.
Hey Runn4est, when RCI said "mounting hardware", do tyou know if that means just the bolts/fasteners (RCI sells separately) or do you think it means mods to the skids?
I was about to pull the trigger on new RCI skids for my 2007, but have a friend with a full 5th gen OEM set which he changed out with RCI's. Never even thought they might fit...doh... save me a lot of $ if it works. I'll post what I find out.

Maybe try being supportive or not say anything at all. He's gonna give it a shot either way so maybe it'll help one way or another.
This is there direct quote. "The front skid plate is not compatible. However, if your 4th gen is a V6 then the transmission and t-case skid plate will work. You will have to get a new transfer case crossmember though which is $150 + shipping ($15?). The fuel tank will also work but you will need to get some different brackets from us which is about $40 shipped. If you want to get any of the extra pieces or hardware let me know and I'd be happy to help you out."

Thanks to you all! [MENTION=124959]Runn4est[/MENTION] thanks for that. I am currently taking some measurements and see what I will be able to do and see if it will be at all worth it. If not I still will post those measurements and maybe someone that has access to doing some fab work would be able to get it done. Another update, I have done the measurements and it looks like things are fitting fine however I need to now do the measurements with the skid plate under truck and aligned. The skid plate its closer to the frame by 1/4" and also the tail piece sits about 1.25" back from the stock so don't know how that will align with a RCI mid plate kit so need to assess that.
Measurements of distance shows that the holes are in a perfect square of L(14.5-14.75") x H(8.25") with the bolt holes on the right being sliding holes of a .25 difference.
