5th Gen Wheel & Tire Thread

You will have some rubbing on the bumper and fender liners most likely. The bumpers are trimmed on the Pros at port when the suspension is installed, and that is with stock tires.
You should be able to run them, but you may have to do some minor trimming. There is a thread somewhere on 275's that shows guys who are running them on Pro wheels on stock rides.

Thank you! Not what I wanted to hear, but it does beg the next question, would the Pro wheels cause rubbing with the stock 265-17's? Can't imagine they would, but...
It's interesting that the Port actually does trimming on the Pro, You would think that there would be a separate liner molding to accommodate the larger wheel.
Thanks again.

Hey guys went to discount they wouldn't put anything on bigger than 255 on my 15ltd and said I could get wheels and tires for the same price of not cheaper

Apparently there were a few of the really early Pro's that got through with no trimming, and I don't remember any of them complaining about rubbing. However, I don't think that Toyota would trim if they didn't have to.

There are plenty of guys on here running the Pro wheels on stock suspensions, and I don't think many have done any trimming. So I guess every vehicle is different.

There is even a TSB out there on how to make the mods. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/tsb/190317-t-sb-0009-15-trd-pro-bumper-fender-interference.html

I had a problem getting 285s from Tire rack. I had used the vehicle finder to get the right size wheels I wanted so when I said I wanted 285s mounted on the stock size wheels, they didn't think they would fit. They actually contacted me and I told them the truck was lifted. I received the tires mounted and balanced on the wheels in my driveway soon after.

You are better off going with the 17x8 in -10 or 0 offset size of the same wheel. 9 inches is quite wide for the size tires our 5th gens can fit without major cutting.

Stock LE wheels are 7" width and +13 offset.
The Level 8 17x8 0 offset will stick out an extra 26mm or ~1" on each side(2"overall track width) and same inner clearance as stock.
The Level 8 17x8 -10 offset will stick out an extra 36mm or ~1.4" on each side(2.8" overall track width) and have 10mm more inner clearance over stock.

Personally I'd pick the 17x8 -10 offset for the best looking stance. They won't stick out past the fenders but will come almost right up to them. For reference the wheels im putting on my car are 1.75" wider stance on each side which brings them almost perfectly aligned with the fenders.
